IT'S ON! MAVERICKS FESTIVAL IS SET FOR SATURDAY Rain or Shine - Mavericks Festival & Awards Ceremony Confirmed For March 31. The highly anticipated Mavericks Festival and Mavericks Awards are confirmed to take place this Saturday, March 31st, on the outside grounds of the Oceano Hotel & Spa in Princeton Harbor, Half Moon Bay. The notorious Mavericks swell and the talented big wave surfers who challenge it will be celebrated throughout the day?s events. Contest director and Mavericks pioneer, Jeff Clark , with KNBR host and former Oakland A?s player Eric Byrnes , will emcee the festivities. Is the world ready for a sequel to Twins? Universal and Montecito Picture Co. are hoping to develop a doozy of a follow-up to the 1988 hit comedy that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito that would reunite the two stars. But wait, there’s a twist: In the new scenario, Eddie Murphy would act as a third brother. Titled Triplets , the story would see Schwarzenegger and DeVito as brothers Julius and Vincent, conceived experimentally, who discover they have third sibling. The project doesn’t have a director at this early stage -- Ivan Reitman, who helmed the original, would only act as a producer with his Montecito Picture Co. cohorts Joe Medjuk, Tom Pollock and Ali Bell, according to sources -- but the hunt is on for writers to develop the idea. WRATH OF THE TITANS Movie Review By: Matt C Does Wrath of the Titans improve on the original, or get banished to the underworld? The 2012 summer movie list is one of the most tantalizing in recent memory. Stuck at one end of this onslaught of cinematic rapture is Wrath of the Titans , a curious opening act considering the ho-hum reaction its older brother received in 2010. However, armed with a new director, better action, and a slightly better script, Wrath is an improvement on Clash, but still misses the target. Let’s put it this way: if you enjoy the typical summer movie popcorn fare, Wrath is for you; but, don’t expect a history lesson on Greek mythology that makes even a lick of sense. If these two clips are anything to go by, we have two contrasting Bond girls in Skyfall, the new James Bond film. On one hand, we have Bérénice Marlohe's probably-evil glamourpuss; on the other, Naomie Harris' tough and tenacious-looking field agent who at least appears to be on the side of the angels. Check out these two new videoblogs to see what we mean. First of all, there's Marlohe's video, which seems distinctly the more groomed of the two; literally, since we see Marlohe being primped for the camera. She talks about the strength and darkness inherent in a Bond girl - and if that isn't code for "Don't trust me!", we don't know what is.
