THE WOMAN IN BLACK Movie Review By: RAMA

THE WOMAN IN BLACK Movie Review By: RAMA Did the THE WOMAN IN BLACK scare the pants off of RAMA ? Make sure to follow him on Facebook and Twitter . THE WOMAN IN BLACK is a mildly entertaining horror film that rides heavily on the popularity of Daniel Radcliff . It’s going to make a lot of money at the box office, not because it’s attended by genuine horror fans but because it’s attended by Harry Potter fans. But that doesn’t necessarily mean a bad thing. Some aspects about THE WOMAN IN BLACK does work, it has enough fright to keep you alert. But the concept is nothing new and the ending is too convenient… Arthur Kipps ( Daniel Radcliffe ), a widowed lawyer whose grief has put his career in jeopardy, is sent to a remote village to sort out the affairs of a recently deceased eccentric. But upon his arrival, it soon becomes clear that everyone in the town is keeping a deadly secret. Although the townspeople try to keep Kipps from learning their tragic history, he soon discovers

Nine Secrets You Need To Know About The Hunger Games

The first of four parts in Suzanne Collins' massively popular three-book series The Hunger Games , about two dozen children randomly chosen to compete for survival, opens March 23 on more than 4,000 screens across the country (as with Twilight and Harry Potter, the final book will be split into two films). The film's reception could determine whether its stars — Jennifer Lawrence , 21; Josh Hutcherson , 19; and Liam Hemsworth , 22 — ascend to Kristen Stewart-Robert Pattinson-Taylor Lautner superstardom and fill the gap opening as Twilight heads toward its final chapter. For Lionsgate, which has struggled recently at the box office (Abduction, Conan the Barbarian), Games is its first major test since acquiring Summit Entertainment, the studio behind The Twilight Saga franchise, in January — a move that yokes together execs responsible for the most recent youth phenomenon with those hoping to launch the next. Games’ success could impact the future of many at Lionsgate, all ea

Emma Watson Your Voice In My Head

Warner Bros is negotiating to acquire Your Voice in My Head , the Emma Forrest -scripted drama based on the scribe’s memoir that is expected to be the next film by director David Yates . The film is shaping up to be a Harry Potter reunion. Yates is in discussions with Emma Watson to star in the role of a young woman who attempts suicide before being saved by a New York-based psychiatrist who’s dying of cancer. Watson and Yates worked together on the last four Harry Potter films. Warner Bros has made it a priority to get right back in business with Yates. The studio offered him its script Imitation Game, but Yates didn’t bite and the studio is putting together a list of directors I’m told includes Ralph Fiennes and Bryan Singer. As for the lead male role in Your Voice in My Head, the studio is aiming high, with names like Tom Hanks and George Clooney in the mix. Yates is expected to make this film before he does A Reliable Wife at Sony. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Deadline

The Double Blu-Ray Review By: Matt C

The Double Blu-Ray Review By: Matt C I want to welcome Matt back with another DVD review he has provide us. Matt will become a regular on the site, so welcome him with open arms. Matt is also going to start and provide us with movie reviews for the site. With the release of The Double this month on Blu-ray, one might wonder if the spy thriller genre has been oversaturated. Afterall, how could an independently-financed project with screenwriters Michael Brandt and Derek Haas (3:10 to Yuma and Wanted) penning and directing, be considered anything other than an over-blown version of 24? The answer might exist in the history of this genre. Throughout the 70’s-80’s, we saw few memorable attempts on television, like Airwolf and The Equalizer. But these masterpieces were few and far between. Instead, we were fed a steady diet of cheesy Bond flicks, with plot lines so thick you need a Q’s worth of plastiques just to get to the real plot. In the post-9/11 world, these western-style

CHRONICLE Movie Review By: RAMA

CHRONICLE Movie Review By: RAMA What did RAMA think of CHRONICLE. Make sure to follow him on Facebook and Twitter . I’ve got two words for CHRONICLE: Super Cool! What a fantastic film! So much fun! The three characters on the screen havin’ a blast with their superpowers and we the audience get to have a blast with them, CHRONICLE is that engaging! I’m not too crazy about found footage or POV genre but writer Max Landis and director Josh Trank have crafted something that allows not just the character’s camera but every other freakin’ camera that’s around, to help tell the story. And I admire the fact that the film doesn’t shy away from the usual adolescent problems, it’s pretty much a relatable teen movie but it’s also got awesome superpowers.. Directed by Josh Trank and written by John Landis and his son, Max, the movie stars Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, Alex Russell and Michael Kelly. three high school students make an incredible discovery, leading to them developing un

Watchmen Comics Will Live On

The storm has been approaching for a couple of years now, but it broke yesterday with DC announcing that Alan Moore's iconic graphic novel Watchmen is to finally get the franchise treatment. It's not strictly movie news (although there are possible implications) but we thought you might be interested... The story dates back to a change of regime at DC in 2010. Despite the company's very public falling-out with the irascible Moore, DC's head honcho Paul Levitz was always adamant that Watchmen , at least in print form, was sacred ground not to be invaded. When Levitz stepped down, however, Watchmen was no longer sequestered by in-house defenders, and with Zack Snyder's movie propelling the book to the status of DC's all-time bestseller, the company's senior vice-president Dan DiDio made an expanded Watchmen universe a pet project. Much speculation and rumour followed (largely fuelled by the alarmist fanboys at Bleeding Cool), but the result turns out to

Al Pacino & Christopher Walken Are Stand Up Guys

Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin will star in Stand Up Guys , an action comedy being directed by Fisher Stevens, who won an Oscar for producing The Cove . An April shoot in Los Angeles is being scheduled. The project, which was formerly known as Old Timers , centers on two aging criminals, one of whom has been hired to kill his friend. They decide to enjoy one last night of debauchery in which they hit up a brothel, steal some cars and evade police but also face the choices they made in their lives. The project began life as a spec script by Noah Haidle. The film is being made by Lakeshore in conjunction with Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, with Lionsgate distributing domestically. Lakeshore International with Sierra Pictures is handling international sales. Sidney Kimmel, Gary Lucchessi, Tom Rosenberg and SKE’s Jim Tauber are producing. Matt Berenson and the late Bingham Ray are credited as executive producers. Pacino and Walken both appeared in Gigli , though t
