BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Game of Thrones' Kit Harington To Star As King Arthur In Arthur & Lancelot

Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington has plucked the sword from the stone and will play the future King Arthur in Warner Bros.’ Arthur & Lancelot. David Dobkin is directing the movie, which seeks to spin the King Arthur myth into a bit of a lighthearted action movie the way the studio did with Sherlock Holmes. In the classic myth, Lancelot was one of Arthur’s knights and ends up in an adulterous relationship with Arthur’s wife, Guinevere. The movie sees Arthur as an illegitimate son being raised by a humble and poor knight in a village who will grow into an inspiring leader while Lancelot is a rebellious noble who distrusts the established government. (Guinevere, at this stage of the game, is simple a cameo but will figure more prominently in potential sequels.) The movie is eying a March 2012 start. Harington’s role of Arthur has parallels to his character in Thrones, where he plays an illegitimate son with hidden potential to the lord of the northern kingdom. Haringto

Strahovski will play the female lead, a scientist working on reanimating the dead and tricked into working for demons seeking to create an army of the undead. THE DESCENDANTS Movie Review By: Rama

THE DESCENDANTS Movie Review By: Rama So does RAMA think George Clooney pulled of an Oscar worthy performance in the film? Make sure to Follow him on Facebook and Twitter . Alexander Payne is back and thank God he’s back! It’s been a while since Sideways, which I admired, now Payne has given his next masterpiece and just like his previous works, this too has Oscars written all over it. Everything about THE DESCENDANTS is close to perfect from the writing, directing to the performances. The film is a gentle but firm and genuine ring of emotions, so well-crafted that you get even more and more interested in the characters as the story progresses. George Clooney has given some outstanding performances in the past but his performance in THE DESCENDANTS proves that he truly is one of the finest actors of all time. And for the record, I think Shailene Woodley deserves a best supporting nod… Matt King ( George Clooney ), a husband and father of two girls, must re-examine his pas

Tom Hardy Talks Bane "He's brutal. Brutal"

You've seen the new Empire covers with Batman and Bane, but here's a sneak peek at some of the news on The Dark Knight Rises inside the magazine. Specifically, Nolan himself gives away a few tidbits on the film's plot and setting, and Tom Hardy talks about Bane. Let's hear from director Christopher Nolan first, and see what he'll divulge about the film. "It's really all about finishing Batman and Bruce Wayne's story. We left him in a very precarious place. Perhaps surprisingly for some people, our story picks up quite a bit later, eight years after The Dark Knight. So he's an older Bruce Wayne; he's not in a great state. "With Bane, we're looking to give Batman a challenge he hasn't had before. With our choice of villain and with our choice of story we're testing Batman both physically as well as mentally." Speaking of physical challenges, what can Tom Hardy tell us about Bane ? "He's brutal. Brutal. He

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 1 Movie Review By: Rama

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 1 Movie Review By: Rama So is Rama a Twi-hard or not. Go ahead and read his review and make sure to Follow him on Facebook and Twitter . It really is challenging to write up a review for any Twilight movie, especially this fourth installment when you’re neither a fan of the books nor the previous movies. Because when you’re a fan, you can easily geek out and be stoked about it no matter what, because you’ve drunk the Twilight kool-aid. But when you’re not a fan, you’re faced with the fact that you’re going to write about pretty much the same damn thing again because you’ve noticed a pattern. One thing I’d say is that the build up, before this movie arrives, around how it would depict the sex scene and the birthing process does come in handy in attracting those of us who think that it’s a dreadful experience dragging our feet to the screening for another round of Edward-Bella-Jacob.. In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Bel

Rampage Video Game To Be Made Into A Film

Who’s up for a little Rampage? New Line Cinema has put into development an adaptation of the classic 1980s video game featuring apes and monsters destroying cities. John Rickard, who has acted as a co-producer on a wide range of New Line movies from A Nightmare on Elm Street and Final Destination to Horrible Bosses and next year’s tentpole Jack the Giant Killer, will produce and is meeting with writers to develop a story for the project. The game comes from Midway Games, which was acquired by New Line's sister company Warner Bros. in 2009 for $33 million. The concept of the game revolves around a trio of mild-mannered humans who are mutated into a giant Godzilla-like lizard, a werewolf and a gorilla, respectively, and fight the military while destroying buildings. Players controlled the monsters and moved up levels when a city was destroyed. The project aims to take advantage of the title and the visuals of the game. New Line isn’t usually in the tentpole business (th

Tarsem Singh Attached To Killing On Carnival Row

Tarsem Singh , whose latest film Immortals just opened and who follows with the Julia Roberts -starrer Snow White film Mirror, Mirror , has become attached to Killing On Carnival Row . That is a script by Travis Beacham that producers Arnold and Anne Kopelson originally set up six years ago. It was a hot spec and the very first sale for Beacham, whose subsequent credits include Clash of the Titans, Pacific Rim, the Disney remake Black Hole, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea at Fox. The Kopelsons, who originally set it at New Line, have gotten close to making the film with Guillermo Del Toro and Neil Jordan, but they feel that Singh will put them over the top. Arnold Kopelson said he’s in talks with a studio he wouldn’t reveal but expects to begin production on the noir-style fantasy thriller next June in New Orleans. He’s starting to cast. The script takes place in the future in a city called the Burgue, which looks a lot like 18th Century London. It is inhabited by humans and othe
