Twitch has learned that Denzel Washington has been offered the lead role in the upcoming Warner Brothers backed thriller The Secret In Their Eyes . The picture is a remake of the Oscar winning Argentinian film of the same name from director Juan Jose Campanella to be written and directed by Billy Ray (Shattered Glass, Breach) with Washington offered the lead role played by Ricardo Darin in the original. A retired legal counselor writes a novel hoping to find closure for one of his past unresolved homicide cases and for his unreciprocated love with his superior - both of which still haunt him decades later. Washington is currently scheduled to star in Robert Zemeckis' Flight next so, should he take on the part, this would have to role once his work on that picture is complete. Please Leave A Comment-

Mark Gordon is bringing his feature film Source Code to the small screen. His Mark Gordon Company, which is locked into an overall deal at ABC Studios, has sold a TV version of the sci-fi thriller to CBS with a meaningful penalty. The news marks ABC Studios' first off-network sale of the development season. Like the film on which it is based, the action/procedural follows three former federal agents who are part of a top-secret program. Each week, they'll use " Source Code " technology to jump into the consciousness of people involved in tragic events. Rapper Snoop Dogg will star in biopic The Legend of Fillmore Slim , announced today by Ames Universal and SRI Entertainment. Fillmore Slim — real name Clarence Sims — is a blues singer and guitarist. During the 1960s and ’70s, he was also a well-known pimp in San Francisco, referred to as “ The West Coast Godfather of the Game ” and “ The Pope of Pimping . ” Shelly Liebowitz is executive producing. Alan Ames, who is co-producing with Wayne Anderson and writing the screenplay with Carole Parker, produces the syndicated TV series Texas Roadhouse Live. He was approached by Sims’ daughter Rebecca, who helped put the project together. “This film will span decades,” said Ames, “from Slim’s emergence as a musician, to his fascination with the fast life, through his years of incarceration and his redemption.” Sims, now 77 years old, is currently touring. Attention impatient sequelphiles: Vulture can confirm that J.J. Abrams has finally committed to shooting Star Trek 2. Insiders familiar with the director's plans tell Vulture that pre-production is underway, that the script will be done by month's end and that Abrams will start shooting this winter. While many assumed he would make the follow-up to his 2009 hit, he would never give a date for the project, or actually say for sure that he would be the one directing. In July, reports elsewhere surfaced that Abrams was “moving towards a commitment” to direct the sequel (which, of course, is Internet for “hasn’t committed yet”) but his delay had pushed a nervous Paramount Pictures to give Trek 2's late June 2012 release date to a G.I.
