We're already rather looking forward to Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol just because it daringly breaks away from colon-focused punctuation of the series to date. As a bonus, it also has Pixar's Brad Bird directing, a heck of a cast assembled and some very promising trailers so far. Michael Keaton and Michelle Monaghan will star in Penthouse North , a psychological thriller being directed by Joseph Ruben. Lionsgate is handling foreign sales for the thriller and is shopping it in Toronto. The pic will begin production in Canada’s capital, Ottawa, in November. The plot centers on a photojournalist ( Monaghan ) haunted by a tragic event who has escaped from the world in an upscale New York penthouse. The world comes after her with a vengeance in the form of a smooth but sadistic criminal ( Keaton ) looking for a hidden fortune, with the woman mustering her inner strength to survive. David Loughery, who wrote the thrillers Obsessed and Lakeview Terrace, penned Penthouse and is also producing. Monaghan will be in Toronto for the premiere of Machine Gun Preacher, the Marc Forster movie in which she stars opposite Gerard Butler. She was last seen in Summit’s Source Code. It’s a project that will have everybody in Hollywood and beyond talking.  Warner Bros has set up an untitled drama that teams Gibson and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas on the telling of the heroic story of Jewish warrior Judah Maccabee . Eszterhas will write the script, and I understand that Gibson will collaborate with him. Maccabee teamed with his father and four brothers to lead the Jewish revolt against the Greek-Syrian armies that had conquered Judea in the second century B.C. Gibson has the first option to direct but will definitely produce the film through his Icon Productions banner. Ben Affleck is stepping back in time for his next role. The actor, who will be playing former CIA agent Tony Mendez in his new film Argo , was photographed on the movie's L.A. set in full 70s garb. For the character, Affleck sports a longer, shaggy hairstyle and was wearing a period-perfect wide-lapel shirt and sports coat. After The Expendables turned in a surprisingly strong $275 million worldwide gross, many have wondered what they would do for an encore. How’s this? Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have just closed deals to take “ substantial ” roles in The Expendables 2 , alongside Sylvester Stallone . This has been rumored as possible, and it basically answers the hopes of a lot of fans who weren’t satisfied when action icons Schwarzenegger and Willis turned in cameos in the original, and poked fun at the days when they were the world’s top action stars. Chris Tucker is apparently ready for moviegoers to hear more words coming out of his mouth. The fast-talking actor-comedian is in talks for a role in The Silver Linings Playbook for writer-director David O. Russell and The Weinstein Co. Tucker hasn't been on the big screen since 2007, when he last reprised his detective role opposite Jackie Chan in Rush Hour 3 .
