Texas Chainsaw Massacre is heading back to the big screen, this time in 3D. John Luessenhop is in talks to direct the Lionsgate project, which is being produced by Carl Mazzocone. Production is slated to begin in June. The movie will be a joint Lionsgate and Nu Image production, with Lionsgate distributing the movie in the U.S. and Nu Image selling international rights at Cannes. Carl Mazzocone is producing the movie, which hopes to launch a new franchise featuring Leatherface and his family of cannibals. Mazzocone was production president of horror house Twisted Pictures before becoming an independent producer; he pursued the rights to the property and came away with a deal to make up to six movies. The original Chainsaw is considered a landmark horror movie. Directed by Tobe Hooper, the 1974 pic introduced the chainsaw wielding cannibal known as Leatherface to audiences. Here is the teaser trailer for the upcoming film Colombiana , the film stars Zoe Saldana and Michael Vartan . The film will be produced by Luc Besson (Léon (a.k.a. The Professional),The Fifth Element,) and the script will be written by Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. Zoe Saldana will play a young woman who, after witnessing her parents’ murder as a child in Bogota, grows up to be a stone-cold assassin. She works for her uncle as a hitman by day, but her personal time is spent engaging in vigilante murders that she hopes will lead her to her ultimate target: the mobster responsible for her parents' death. I am just not impressed with the posters for the upcoming film X-Men First Class . If only they up the effort into these posters like they have for their trailers I would have nothing to complain about. The one positive thing about the poster is we get a closer look at Hellfire Club . I got some exciting news in my email today, I received the press release that  Focus Features  and  LAIKA are reteaming again for two more films.   An interesting thing about  LAIKA is it is fueled by the vision of its owner, NIKE Co-Founder and Chairman Phil Knight . We all learn something new everyday. First up is  ParaNorman,  In the comedy thriller, a small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman (voiced by Mr. McPhee ), who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst of all, moronic grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. Hugh Jackman is director Shawn Levy's first choice to star in 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Voyage , the James Cameron -produced 3D tent pole film. It's early days, but this would give Jackman a big movie to do while he and Fox sort things out with The Wolverine . The film was on a fast track to start production this year, until Darren Aronofsky dropped out as director. They've considered such helmers as Source Code's Duncan Jones and David Slade, but haven't yet hired a helmer. There has also been complications because the Christopher McQuarrie script is set almost entirely in Japan, a country still dealing with the aftermath of the devastating earthquake and monsoon.
