Columbia isn’t even done shooting The Amazing Spider-Man , its Spider-Man reboot, but it has already begun working on a sequel. James Vanderbilt , who penned Amazing , will be back behind the keyboard for the continuation of the new movie franchise. Vanderbilt had a meeting with the Spider-Man filmmakers and studio execs yesterday outlining his take, getting a thumbs up, and will now begin writing. Vanderbilt has become part of the Spider-Man family at Columbia, which has enjoyed great success with a tightknit group of creative people. Vanderbilt first worked on Spider-Man 4 for the studio, back when Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire were planning to continue the series. At the time, he was chosen for his character-driven approach to the story rather than a focus on special effects and worked on an outline for a trio of films. A remake of the buddy comedy " Uptown Saturday Night " that's been in development at Warner Bros. for nearly a decade is getting a push forward, with the studio and Overbrook Entertainment bringing on comedy scribe Tim Dowling to write the script. David Dobkin ("Wedding Crashers") is attached to direct and exec produce remake of the 1974 buddy comedy that starred Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier . Amy Adams  (The Fighter)  has landed the iconic role of journalist Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman reboot from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. Adams joins    Henry Cavill , Diane Lane and Kevin Costner on the production, which will be directed by Zack Snyder. “Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about," Snyder said in a statement Sunday. "So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful." The ballerina who served as a dancing double for Natalie Portman’s Oscar-winnning role in Black Swan tells EW she has been the victim of a “cover-up” to mislead the public about how much dancing Portman actually did in the film. “ Of the full body shots, I would say 5 percent are Natalie ,” says Sarah Lane , 27, an American Ballet Theatre soloist who performed many of the film’s complicated dance sequences, allowing Portman’s face to be digitally grafted onto her body. “All the other shots are me.” Lane’s claim follows a March 23 L.A. Saoirse Ronan could be cast opposite Armie Hammer in Relativity's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White that's an revisionist adult retelling of the fairy tale from director Tarsem Singh. Armie Hammer, fresh off The Social Network, has closed a deal to play Prince Andrew Alcott in the pic. But Ronan (Atonement, and the upcoming Hanna ) is still only "in discussions" for the title role. Julia Roberts already has been cast. The young male Role To Die For at the moment is the lead in The Bourne Legacy , the Bourne Identity spinoff film that will be directed for Universal by Tony Gilroy. The field is narrowing, and I'm told that the following are set so far to test: Joel Edgerton (The Thing), Dominic Cooper (Captain America), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) and Luke Evans (The Amateur American). There could be another name or two ( Logan Marshall-Green comes up as speculation), but that's who'll test first week of April. Now the choice could always come from an actor who doesn't test. Among the established names in the mix has been Shia LaBeouf (will not test, per insiders) and Battleship's Taylor Kitsch (has met with Gilroy and is a possibility). I don't think the studio feels this needs a big star.
