 Katherine Heigl As An Ageless Woman Summit Entertainment has acquired domestic distribution rights to the romantic drama Adaline . Starring Katherine Heigl and directed by Andy Tennant from a script by J. Mills Goodloe, Salvador Paskowitz and Allison Burnett, Adaline is a turn-of-the-20th-century tale of a strangely ageless young woman who falls in love after years of isolation. Set for release in early 2012, Adaline will begin lensing in March with Sidney Kimmel and Jim Tauber producing, alongside Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi of Lakeshore Entertainment. Steve Golin and Alix Madigan also will produce through Anonymous Content; Heigl and Nancy Heigl will exec produce via their Abishag. Summit chief Rob Friedman called the pic "a fantastic story that we believe will resonate with the American audience." With a production deadline looming, Sony has partnered with Hyde Park Entertainment as a cofinancier on the 3D “ Ghost Rider 2 ,” with Nicolas Cage in the lead - at a much leaner budget. The first film in 2007 set up Cage as stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze, who gives up his soul to be come a vigilante. That film had an estimated budget of $110 million, and grossed $115 million domestically, and a total of $229 million worldwide. This time Ashok Armitraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment has stepped in to cofinance the project because Sony has so much capital tied up in 'SpiderMan' and 'Men in Black 3' and 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.' The budget has been cut from $135 million to a leaner $75 million , according to a knowledgeable insider. Michael Jackson's Thriller To Become A Film Michael Jackson , who reportedly earned $275 million posthumously over the past year for his estate, isn't slowing down anytime soon.  GK Films is in active negotiations to acquire a package for a film that is being fashioned around his groundbreaking hit song Thriller . The film, which has been quietly shopped over the past several weeks by Real Effects Entertainment , has Kenny Ortega attached to direct, and The Hangover scribe Jeremy Garelick to write the screenplay. While GK is in the driver's seat, I'm told that Fox 2000, Mandate/Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment are all in the mix on what will shape up as a pricey rights deal, but which will turn out to be a film budgeted at under $50 million. Kevin Smith pitched to Jon Peters his story outline in August 1996, in which Peters gave him permission to write a screenplay. Last night Disney California Adventure premiered the newest edition to their World Of Color showed themed after the upcoming film Tron: Legacy. World of Color is a new nighttime show at Disney California Adventure, part of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The entire show cost $75,000,000 USD to design, manufacture and build, premiering on Friday June 11, 2010 as part of "Summer Nightastic!". Designed by Walt Disney Creative Entertainment, the show has more than 1,200 fountains and includes lights, water, fire, fog, and lasers, with high-definition projections on mist screens.
