Hip-hop artist and actor RZA tells me that Crowe has signed on to costar with him in The Man With the Iron Fist , a kung fu flick the Wu-Tang Clan founder is also directing. RZA will play a weapons-making village blacksmith in feudal China—and as for Crowe, RZA doesn't want to say too much. "I won't spoil it for you, but Russell's gonna be the baddest man alive," he told me yesterday at the VMAs. "That man is in fighting shape. That man will knock you out." Goosebumps To Get Hollywood Treatment Screenwriter Carl Ellsworth " Red Dawn " (Will this film ever get released? Call MGM) and " Disturbia " co-writer has come aboard to write the screenplay for a live-action feature adaptation of the R.L. Stine book series " Goosebumps " for Columbia. Scholastic publishes the hugely popular kids' horror books, which number in the dozens and have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide, second only to the "Harry Potter" series in total sales. Columbia picked up film rights to the series in May 2008 and is looking at a family-driven potential franchise. The property has spawned video games, TV shows, additional book series and straight-to-video films, but this would be the first big-screen treatment. Kevin James To Enter The Octagon If you follow or watch the UFC then you have seen Kevin James at many of the fights. It looks like he will be entering the octagon very soon. Sony made a deal to have James star in an untitled Mixed Martial Art comedy that will start production next year. The script will be written by Allan Loeb (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps) which should be interesting. James is attached to play a physics teacher whose school faces drastic cutbacks. Spike TV's Deadliest Warrior Coming To The Big Screen Paramount Pictures announced today it has made a deal for Shawn Levy's 21 Laps Entertainment to do a big-screen adaptation of sister company Spike TV 's original hit series " Deadliest Warrior ." The announcement comes on the heels of the show’s Season 2 finale, which brought about exceptional ratings for the network. Spike TV has renewed the series for a third season.
