History Of The Hobbit

History Of The Hobbit And The Headache Of Trying To Get It Made Although the film version of The Lord of the Rings was a massive worldwide success, getting J.R.R. Tolkien's prequel, The Hobbit , to the screen has proven much more difficult. With the rights finally sorted out after being tied up for years and a studio feud with Rings director Peter Jackson resolved, the project finally began moving forward in 2008—only to be stalled this year by the looming collapse of MGM, one of the two companies financing the production, should it fail to find a way out of its $4 billion debt. Avatar: Special Edition DVD/Blu-Ray Update

Avatar: Special Edition DVD/Blu-Ray Extra 16 Minutes Of Footage Avatar: Special Edition hit theaters yesterday and over 9 minutes of extra footage. Has anybody gone out to see it again or for the first time? I would recommend going to watch it in 3D if you haven't had this experience yet. If you were like me I didn't pick up Avatar when it was released on DVD, knowing that down the road there would be a special edition re-release of the film, and now we have word on Avatar: Special Edition DVD & Blu-ray will have 16 minutes of extra footage. “Well, if you buy the box set in November, you can sit down, and in a continuous screening of the film, watch it with the Earth opening … It works very well. It just takes a long time to get the movie started. You have to be sort of predisposed to like the movie like a fan, you know what I mean? And then you can sit and you can have a great ride — a different telling of Avatar. Not inconsistent — it’s just the stuff that happen

Star Trek Sequel To Be Compared To The Dark Knight

Star Trek Sequel To Be Compared To The Dark Knight Star Trek Dos, aka, Star Trek 2 , isn't set to hit theaters until 2012. But E! News caught up with producer Damon Lindelof (you know, cocreator of a little show called Lost) at a pre-Emmys party, and he spilled some insights into what's driving the filmmakers as they work on the sequel. Mission: Impossible 4 Jeremy Renner Tom Cruise

Jeremy Renner Joining Tom Cruise On A Mission Paramount Pictures won't be screen-testing any young actors to star opposite Tom Cruise after all. I've learned that the studio has just chosen Jeremy Renner to infuse new blood in its Mission: Impossible franchise. Renner is the Oscar-nominated star of The Hurt Locker and will star alongside Cruise in the fourth installment of the franchise that will begin production in the fall as a reboot. Brad Bird is directing and Cruise is producing with JJ Abrams . Paramount has struggled to find the right co-star to play the operative opposite Cruise. One factor was selecting an actor who could potentially carry the series on his own down the line, should Cruise's Ethan Hunt character not continue to be the emphasis. While Cruise is expected to return for a fifth installment, production chief Adam Goodman wanted a guy who could grow into a leading man in his own right. The studio boss was interested in actors like Tom Hardy and C
