Fringe Renewed For A Third Season Though the show isn't exactly blowing the roof off of Nielsen—it's been averaging just 7.6 million viewers and is ranked No. 50 in the all-important adults 18-49 demographic this season—it managed to survive in a tough new time period on Thursdays. The show returns with new episodes—and the promise of more visits from Leonard Nimoy and to the parallel universe—on April 1. The Green Lantern And Zach Snyder's "Sucker Punch." To Be In 3D Warner Bros. is adding two more projects to its growing portfolio of 3D films -- "The Green Lantern" and Zach Snyder's "Sucker Punch." "Green Lantern," starring Ryan Reynolds and directed by Martin Campbell, is heading into production in Louisiana with a June, 17, 2011, release date. "Sucker Punch," starring Emily Browning as a teen confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, has completed principal photography and is set for a March 25, 2011, launch. Warners is in the process of converting "Clash of the Titans" and the first part of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" to stereoscopic 3D (S3D). Studio decided last month to convert "Titans" and moved the launch back a week to April 2, kicking off a flurry of release-date shifts. "Police Academy" Reboot Coming Your Way New Line is looking for recruits for a relaunched "Police Academy" movie. Original producer Paul Maslansky is back for the new iteration, which has no writer or director attached. "Academy" was a seven-film lowbrow comedy series from Warner Bros. that saw a city throw open the doors of its police force to any recruit, much to the chagrin of its serious officers. The misfit officers band together and, of course, save the city. The first film, released in 1984, starred Steve Guttenberg as Mahoney, a repeat offender who is forced to enter the academy and emerges as the group's leader. Other notable characters included Moses Hightower (Bubba Smith), gun-crazy Tackleberry (David Graf), mousy Hooks (Marion Ramsey) and sound effects-spewing Larvell Jones (Michael Winslow). Robert De Niro Ready To Run Again Universal has started the wheels moving on a sequel to the 1988 classic comedy Midnight Run. The studio has hired Tim Dowling to write the comedy, with reprising his role as Los Angeles-based bounty hunter Jack Walsh, the former Chicago cop who hunts the turncoat mob accountant played by Charles Grodin in time to collect a $100,000 fee.2556-large The film is being produced by De Niro and his Tribeca Productions partner Jane Rosenthal. Disney To Air Tron And The Avengers Animated Series Disney Channel is developing a "Tron" animated series to follow the upcoming theatrical release of "Tron: Legacy." The news was part of Disney's upfront presentation Tuesday evening to media buyers and clients, which included a preview of the "Tron" series. Geared towards kids age 6-14, the plan is to precede "Tron" with another project, a 10-part "Tron" micro-series premiering in fall 2011 on Disney XD. Gary Marsh, entertainment president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide, also offered a glimpse of "Legacy," which is at such an early juncture in the development process that only stills were available. Teaser Trailer For New King Kong Attraction At Universal Studios Hollywood As I reported back in February about the upcoming King Kong Ride at Universal Hollywood. We now have a trailer for the upcoming ride thanks to Crave . Over a year and a half ago the 7 ton,30 foot tall King Kong was destroyed in June 2008 Fire on The back lot of Universal Studios Hollywood.Universal instead spent 6 times as much to build a new attraction then remake the old ride. Smallville Returning For A 10th Season As most of us thought CW is going to bring back Samllville for a 10th season, even after that horrible 2hr special Smallville: Absolute Justice. Wow was that a bad one.
