Matt Damon and Josh Brolin To Star In Remake Of "True Grit" Not sure any man can really step in to John Wayne's Shoes but it looks like Matt Damon is going to see if the shoe fits. Interesting move for the Coen Brothers to go this route with a remake to a 1947 western movie. If anyone can pull it off, it would be these two guys. Matt Damon is in discussions to star in Ethan and Joel Coen 's remake of " True Grit ." Josh Brolin, who starred in the brothers' "No Country for Old Men," is also in talks for a major role. A Doc Savage project has long been in development hell; mooted as an Arnie vehicle a decade ago. A classic "adventurer", the character stems from the pulp magazines of the 30s and 40s. Described by principle writer Lester Dent as a cross between Sherlock Holmes, Tarzan and Abraham Lincoln, Clark Savage Jr was trained as a youth by a team of scientists who made him practically superhuman: the colour of his skin, eyes and hair lent him the alias The Man of Bronze. He appeared in getting on for 200 novels between 1933 and 1949 (not to mention a handful in the 1990s), plus comics, a radio series, and a camp low-budget George Pal movie in 1975. District 9 Director Gets A Green Light For Next Film After I saw the movie District 9 I was thinking to myself why didn't I go watch this film sooner? Was I scared that the movie was all hype? The film definitely deserved all the attention it got. Now I am hearing that they are going to make a District 10 a sequel to the film. I can only hope that they are not doing this just to capitalize of the success of the first film. "Rio," which follows the adventures of a nerdy macaw who lights out from his small-town Minnesota cage for the exotic Summer Olympic city of Rio de Janeiro, is scheduled for an April 8, 2011, release.
