Disney To Air Tron And The Avengers Animated Series Disney Channel is developing a "Tron" animated series to follow the upcoming theatrical release of "Tron: Legacy." The news was part of Disney's upfront presentation Tuesday evening to media buyers and clients, which included a preview of the "Tron" series. Geared towards kids age 6-14, the plan is to precede "Tron" with another project, a 10-part "Tron" micro-series premiering in fall 2011 on Disney XD. Gary Marsh, entertainment president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide, also offered a glimpse of "Legacy," which is at such an early juncture in the development process that only stills were available. "Tron is another example of how we can take advantage of the intellectual property that the studio unit pays tens, if not hundreds, of millions to develop and market," said Marsh. "Tron Legacy" Music Video-Daft Punk "Derezzed" Another Tron Tuesday is upon us and we finally get to see the new music video by Daft Punk called " Derezzed ." Another bonus is that during the video we get to see footage that has not been released anywhere else so far. The soundtrack will feature the electronic music duo Daft Punk composed the film score. At the time of the 2009 Comic-Con, it was revealed they composed 24 tracks for the film. When Kosinski was asked why he decided to have Daft Punk do the film score, he replied, " How could you not at least go to those guys ?" According to THR Tron 3 won't be coming to a theater near you. Disney has chosen not to move forward with a third installment in the sci-fi series, sources say. While sources say the project was never officially greenlit, earlier this year it seemed that things were moving ahead with Tron:Legacy helmer Joseph Kosinski returning to direct and stars Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund reprising their roles. Prep had been started on the third film, and production was looking to shoot this fall, likely in Vancouver, British Columbia. “The Black Hole” Film To Be Made By The Team Behind “Tron: Legacy” Disney is preparing another expedition into “The Black Hole.” Joseph Kosinski and Sean Bailey, the director and producer of Disney’s new “Tron: Legacy,” and scribe Travis Beacham are teaming up for what is being labeled a reinvention of the 1979 sci-fi film, which at the time was the most expensive movie Disney had ever produced. “Hole” marks one of the first projects to be put into development by new studio chief Rich Ross. The original followed a group of space explorers aboard the USS Palomino who come across a lost ship, the USS Cygnus, hovering outside a black hole.
