Let's Agree To Disagree With the end of 2010 right around the corner, SandwichJohn thought why not come out with my first Top Ten list for the Films of 2010 . Now remember I haven't seen all the films that came out this year or most of the new releases. I have a family and a real life other than the site. So this is my Top Ten list. I'm for sure there are a few films you will disagree on and I haven't seen The Fighter, Black Swan or even True Grit , so they are not on my list. It makes life funner to stir shit up sometimes. Today the first trailer for X-Men: First Class was released on it's Facebook page this afternoon. We also gor our hands on a new image of Magneto from the upcoming film. The film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Oliver Platt, and Kevin Bacon . 20th Century Fox has inked a deal with comics-world guru Mark Millar to serve as a creative consultant on the studio’s projects based on Marvel Comics properties . Millar wrote several lauded Marvel comic books such as The Ultimates, Civil War and Wolverine: Old Man Logan before moving on to found Millarworld (millarworld.tv), where he continues to develop existing film franchise titles Wanted and Kick-Ass as well as newer comic properties Nemesis -- which was being developed at Fox as a Tony Scott directing vehicle -- The Secret Service and Superior . “In addition to his groundbreaking Marvel work, Mark is simply one of the most original voices in comics today and will be an invaluable resource to us and to our filmmakers as we look for fresh opportunities to innovate within our shared Marvel universe," Fox production president Emma Watts said. Matthew Vaughn has decided not to direct the sequel to 20th Century Fox‘s hit spinoff X-Men: First Class . Ready for the next shocker? Atop the studio’s replacement short list is Bryan Singer, who launched the X-Men feature franchise with the first two superb films and who has been a guiding influence in this spinoff by writing the treatment and producing. If this works out, Singer and Vaughn would essentially be switching roles. Vaughn, who wrote the treatment for the sequel for X-Men: Days Of Future Past that was scripted by Simon Kinberg, would step back to produce the film with Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner. Vaughn will do another film for Fox, and I’m hearing it will be the drama Secret Service , an adaptation of the Mark Millar comic book series that Vaughn has been working on with the author. Fox already has the script for X-Men: Days Of Future Past , and set to return is Fox’s First Class cast that includes Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence . F

Legendary Pictures is eyeing Kick-Ass star Aaron-Taylor Johnson to star in Godzilla , the Gareth Edwards-directed reboot of the franchise based on the iconic Japanese reptile. I’m told that Johnson, who starred in the Oliver Stone-directed Savages and Anna Karenina and followed by reprising in Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall is the frontrunner for the job. He won’t make a final decision on whether or not to take the offer until he sees the final polish that Frank Darabont is writing based on the Max Borenstein script. Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are taking the creative lead on this project — they just put Mary Parent on after she became a producer of Pacific Rim — and Warner Bros is distributing everywhere except for Japan. There, rightsholders Toho will handle the release. Jeff Wadlow , who is readying for the August 16 release of Kick-Ass 2 , has been tapped to write an adaptation of X-Force , an X-Men spin-off being developed by 20th Century Fox. The news comes on the heels of various blogs reporting today that the studio registered X-ForceMovie.com a few months ago. Longtime X-Men franchise producer Lauren Shuller Donner is producing X-Force. Wadlow is now writing the script with an eye to direct. X-Force was an early 1990s spin-off from Marvel Comics’ flagship Uncanny X-Men comics created by Rob Liefeld and its first issue set sales records when it sold five million copies. (The record was only surpassed when X-Men #1, drawn by Jim Lee, sold eight million issues.)
