Mark Johnson Talks Third Narnia ComingSoon.net recently got a chance to talk to producer Mark Johnson about the third installment in the "Narnia" franchise, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader , which Fox Walden will release in theaters on December 10, 2010 release. " Andrew Adamson, who wrote and directed the first two, is a producer on it with me and Michael Apted is directing," said Johnson. "It's a whole new franchise, I think it's really benefiting from it. It's a slightly different look. This one is different from the others, it's in that ['Seventh Voyage of Sinbad,' old Harryhausen films] league and they go from island to island having adventures. I'm very excited about it." He added that "Adamson said something that was so smart early on. Gandalf Talks The Hobbit Casting News Ian McKellen put in an appearance at London's BFI IMAX cinema Saturday night for a special marathon screening of the extended editions of all three Lord of the Rings films, and surprised the audience by unexpectedly revealing Hobbit news during his introductory remarks, /film reported. Not only did he confirm that he'll be coming back as Gandalf, and is expecting to start work on set in March of next year, he also dropped a bit of a casting bombshell. According to McKellen, the starring role of Bilbo Baggins has been successfully cast already. Not only that, but he knows who has the role and he's sure that the fans will be very, very pleased. Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards Crushes Box Office This Week Quentin Tarantino’s WWII tale " Inglourious Basterds " conquered the worldwide B.O., which was welcome news for the Weinstein Co. and Universal as the pic opened to an impressive $37.6 million domestically and $27.1 million more overseas. Pic marks a key win that could yield a new franchise for TWC and Universal Pictures Intl., who are 50-50 partners on "Basterds." The timing is good for both companies. Investors have been putting pressure on TWC to shore up its financials, while U has sustained a series of box office disappointments. Worldwide opening of $65.1 million makes "Basterds" anything but. Sony’s sleeper "District 9" held up well in its second outing, with $18.9 million from 3,050 runs for a cume of $73.5 million. "District" and an unusually healthy crop of late-summer releases helped lift domestic B.O. revs as much as 27% over the same weekend last year.

Schwarzenegger To Own Terminator Franchise? We all knew the latest Terminator film was not up to par. But now the franchise is in even more trouble then we thought. Schwarzenegger , now California governor, has been approached by a consortium to jointly buy the ­franchise rights, which would guarantee future ­Terminator films. It emerged he has not been paid fully for his cameo in the latest ­Terminator blockbuster. Neither has British actor ­Christian Bale, star of Terminator Salvation . The film’s producers named both actors as creditors when they filed for bankruptcy after their hedge fund backers demanded a return on their investment before the film had ­finished making money. They say they have been left with debts of more than $40million, despite taking $370million so far. The exact sums owed to the stars were not disclosed. Other creditors include MGM, Sony and Universal Studios. The petition was filed by Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek , who own the Terminator franchise. The

Shutter Island Pushed back until 2010 Moviegoers won't be going to " Shutter Island " this fall, as Paramount has moved the Martin Scorsese-directed thriller, starring Leonardo DiCaprio , from Oct. 2 to Feb. 19. Citing economic factors, Paramount made the decision Friday morning, only six weeks before the pic would have opened. Fox Searchlight immediately moved " Whip It," its Drew Barrymore -helmed roller derby comedy, forward a week into the slot. The only other pics set for wide release Oct. 2 are Disney's 3D re-releases of " Toy Story " and " Toy Story 2 ." The Feb. 19 slot currently contains a pair of actioners: Lionsgate's " From Paris With Love " and Screen Gems' " Takers ." The studio issued a statement from Paramount Pictures chairman-CEO Brad Grey saying: "Our 2009 slate was greenlit in a very different economic climate and as a result we must remain flexible and willing to recalibrate and adapt

Inglorious Bastards Movie Review Review By:Chocolate Thunder This film is classic Tarantino . Inglorious Bastards starts off in Tarantino fashion giving us the credits in the beginning, with the cool 80's soundtrack playing. Also in Tarantino fashion the movie has a few different story lines in it that keeps you bouncing around the movie, but never lost. The movies stars are Brad Pitt as Lt Aldo Raine, Christoph Waltz as Col. Hans Landa, and Melanie Laurent as Shosanna Dreyfus. The story imcumbuses the three lives into one explosive ending. There are some lovable characters that help to make the movie memorable. There are some very great moments of violence that get graphic, so if you are squemish, cover your eyes every now and then. Last thing, subtitles are all through the movie, if you dont speak German, French, or italian get ready to read. I give it 8 Sandwichs out of 10 Please leave Comment-
