Drew Barrymore Set To Revisit Oz

Drew Barrymore Set To Revisit Oz Surrender Dorothy , yet another Wizard of Oz sequel, has been resurrected. The project was first announced in 2002. It was based on a Zach Helm script (Stranger Than Fiction) and had Drew Barrymore attached to star. She is now attached to direct, as a follow-up to her directorial debut, Whip It. The original project seemingly stalled back in the early aughts. In fact, I can’t even find a mention of it since October 2002, but with the proliferation of Oz projects in development, there’s no time like now to resurrect an old idea. The project is still set up at Warner Brothers and Flower Films (Barrymore’s production company), though I have no word on whether she’s still planning to star as the great, great granddaughter of Dorothy who has to learn how to use the power of those ruby red slippers to keep the Wicked Witch of the West from taking control of the kingdoms of Earth and Oz. (That story doesn’t sound too dissimilar to Josh Olson’s version, whic

Will "Blood Oath" Be The Male Version Of Twilight?

Will "Blood Oath" Be The Male Version Of Twilight? UPDATE: According to Heat Vision Lucas Foster and his Warp Films have picked up the rights to “Blood Oath,” From what I have heard about "Blood Oath" it is going to be nothing less than a hit. You know for sure Hollywood will be calling. Christopher Farnsworth is that your phone ringing? With the success Of the Twilight franchise and True Blood, just to name a few, anything with Vampires in it is the new flavor of the week. But only a great story and writer can make it a success. I am hoping that Mr. Farnsworth will indeed succeed. If this book does get turned into a film it will be a refreshing look at vampires, no more vampire love stories or who's team are you on. Just a bad ass movie. We need to get back to being Ballsy!! Now here's a political-thriller concept with bite: Putnam will release "Blood Oath," which tells the tale of Nathaniel Cade, a vampire who has secretly served

Terrence Howard: Recommended Robert Downey Jr. For Iron Man

Terrence Howard: Recommended Robert Downey Jr. For Iron Man Terrence Howard is taking credit for Robert Downey Jr. Getting the role to play Tony Stark in the Iron Man films. I highly doubt that Howard had any say in the casting of Downey in the Iron Man films, but you never know. "For me to have recommended him, it means all the more so that I helped someone get to where they are supposed to go," the Crash star continued. "Marvel and I are now talking about doing some other things. And Don Cheadle wanted to play that part before I wanted to play it, so everything is very well." Then he went on to dispel any notion that he had a falling out with the studio or director Jon Favreau. "Despite the customary idea or thought that there's some controversy, it was a wonderful split and I know that they've done well," Howard claimed. "Robert Downey Jr. was born to play that part and it was wonderful that that part has given him the stature

Ewan McGregor To Star in The Man Who Killed Don Quixote

Ewan McGregor To Star in The Man Who Killed Don Quixote Ewan McGregor has joined the cast of his long-delayed film, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote . McGregor will take on the role that Johnny Depp had been set to play in the original, aborted version back in 2000. Depp had still been attached to the role for this version, but with Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 eating into his schedule, and a September start date looming for The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, Gilliam has clearly decided to go with McGregor instead. McGregor will play, if the current version remains faithful to the original attempt, a 21st century advertising executive who travels back in time to 17th century Spain, where he meets Don Quixote and becomes involved in adventures with him. Robert Duvall has been on board the revamped film, as Quixote, for some time, replacing Jean Rochefort. But the addition of McGregor is brand new. "Robert Duvall is one of the greats, no question - and he can ride a horse!" lau
