Deadline is reporting Ben Affleck is teaming up with Geoff John s to co-write a stand-alone Batman movie that Affleck will direct and star in after he completes his longstanding plan to helm his scripted adaptation of the Dennis Lehane novel Live By Night. Johns has about as much comic cred as anybody around. He’s DC Comics’ chief creative officer and has written some of its best remembered comic book series including Green Lantern, Aquaman, Batman, Justice League, The Flash and Superman. He also has written TV series superhero transfers Smallville, Arrow and The Flash, as well as the Supergirl project with Greg Berlanti for CBS. Affleck and Johns are well in synch and have more than found their rhythm. JAMES WAN TO DIRECT JASON MOMOA IN WARNER BROS. PICTURES’ UPCOMING AQUAMAN FEATURE Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that director James Wan (“Furious Seven,” “The Conjuring”) will take the helm of the Studio’s upcoming Aquaman feature film, with Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones”) starring as the sea-dwelling Super Hero. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, Warner Bros. Pictures. Silverman stated, “We’ve been so lucky to have worked with James, first on New Line’s ‘The Conjuring’ and now on their upcoming ‘The Conjuring 2,’ and are thrilled to have him on board as we continue to expand our DC slate. Warner Bros. releases the trailer less than a day after its leak. Story by Matt Cummings Thursday night was an interesting one for Warner Bros. Studios. The home of the DC Cinematic Universe, interest had been building for awhile with their plan to release an extended trailer for Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice on Monday April 20th. Seats had been reserved, Zack Snyder "swag" had been hinted at by the director, and fans were ready. That is, until a Portuguese version of the same trailer popped up online that same Thursday night . Although WB did its best to knock down sites that distributed the grainy cam-capture, it was clear they were fighting an uphill battle. But this is The Internet afterall, and no one will keep a trailer down. That's why Warner decided late Friday afternoon to release the trailer, featuring a much clearer cut: Snyder isn't letting the leak deter him. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio and DC Comics are looking to change things up behind the camera, aiming to hire a female director for Wonder Woman . While it shouldn't have to be seen as a landmark decision, the fact remains that despite early discussions on several films, there has yet to be a female director on either Warner Bros. or Marvel’s current efforts (you have to reach back to 2008’s Punisher: War Zone to find Lexi Alexander bringing a studio effort to life). Director Zack Snyder has been on a bit of a Star Wars kick lately, tweeting out various pictures from the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice set that riff on classic Star Wars visuals. This morning J.J. Abrams and his production company Bad Robot have struck back. A YouTube clip entitled " Hunka Junk " features a long, lingering tour of the exterior of the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars: Episode VII , accompanied by John Williams' classic score. Midway through, the music shifts into Hans Zimmer's work from The Dark Knight trilogy, with the camera eventually settling upon a small addition to the Falcon's exterior — one that will look very familiar to fans of Christopher Nolan's films. The move comes not long after Snyder revealed his take on the Batmobile , and with Bad Robot's Twitter account calling out Snyder directly it's likely just a matter of time before the Batman v. New images, which purportedly show the new Batmobile , were posted this morning by two Detroit-based Instagram users (one of whom has since removed his photo). The pictures above and below were reportedly taken near the River Rouge suburb of Detroit, where director Zack Snyder has been filming his Man of Steel follow-up Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice . The photos, which were posted by Instagram user amacro13 , have not been verified by Warner Bros. — but the car does look like it belongs in Gotham City. As filming continues in Detroit on “ Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice ,” more and more set photos are hitting the web. First there were a handful that showed Ben Affleck as non-Batman Bruce Wayne,. Nothing too exciting, but today we finally got some real superhero stuff. Henry Cavill took a stroll to his trailer, trying and failing to keep his flowing Kryptonian garb under the black robe meant to stop onlookers from getting photos. But everyone in the world knows what Superman looks like. Why make Cavill throw on the extra layer? You mean Superman’s costume looks almost identical to the one in “Man of Steel”!? As a number of side-by-sides have already pointed out, Superman’s costume in “Dawn of Justice” is slightly different than the one in “Man of Steel,” which doesn’t make sense if you think about it, right?
