BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

The Wolverine Sequel Is On The Way

After multiple delays and a high-profile change in directors, The Wolverine finally appears set to bare its claws. EW has confirmed that the sequel to 2009′s X-Men Origins: Wolverine is slated to hit theaters July 23, 2013, an indication that studio 20th Century Fox is reasonably confident that the film will start shooting this year. Just under a year ago, Darren Aronofsky bowed out of directing the project, citing concern that the film’s lengthy prospective shoot in Japan would keep him away from his family for too long. By June, James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Walk the Line) had been picked to replace him, but delays have pushed the film’s start date from last fall into this year. Jackman, meanwhile, recently concluded the Broadway run of his one man show, and he’s currently rehearsing for Tom Hooper’s big screen adaptation of Les Misérables , which begins production in March. The Wolverine Gets A Rewrite

With filming now delayed, as the production team waits out the weather in Japan and leading man Hugh Jackman heads off to star in Tom Hooper’s new version of Les Miserables , it seems that The Wolverine ’s director James Mangold is taking the opportunity to run the script through the re-write machine courtesy of Unstoppable’s Mark Bomback. As you’ll likely already be aware, the new outing for Logan will see the freshly amnesiac anti-hero looking for a place in the Japanese criminal underworld. There’ll he’ll find both love and problems, with the majority of the latter provided by the evil Silver Samurai . But as Variety reports, there will also be another thorn in his side, as he’ll face off against Viper , credited here as the secretary for Japan’s Minister of Justice. But fans of Marvel comics know she has a much deeper history than that, having trained with Wolverine at one point with mentor Seraph. She’s also had more friendly dealings with Silver Samurai. While we’re not sur

David Slade To Direct Wolverine 2

"Eclipse" Director David Slade To Direct Wolverine 2 That it's come down to two directors vying to call the shots on Fox's sequel to Wolverine: Twilight: Eclipse director David Slade , and Robert Schwentke (Flightplan, The Time Traveler's Wife). Both men have been approved by the studio's brass, and though Jackman will ultimately be the one to make the call after meeting with each next week, a well-placed source inside the production insists, "It's going to be Slade." As for the plot, McQuarrie's last draft from January has us rejoining Logan in Japan, where we left him at the end of the first Origins movie. There, he begins a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. This being Hugh Jackman , of course, he doesn't take no for an answer. And, this being Japan, that doesn't go over so well. Soon enough, Logan must do battle with her furious father and samurai-sword-w

Liev Schreiber Wants To Return For Wolverine 2

Liev Schreiber Wants To Return For Wolverine 2 At the press conference for the upcoming film "Repo Men" in New York, Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth) talked about the upcoming Wolverine sequel and if Victor would be making a return to my Motherland Japan for the sequel. I just had dinner with [Hugh Jackman] last night and read the first draft of the script and I was really excited about it. It's still not clear whether or not Victor will be present in the Japan storyline. In the Japan storyline as I remember it from the Wolverine comics, Victor wasn't there. So I don't know, of course I've got my fingers crossed because I love the character so much, to have the chance to do it again would be a lot of fun, but I'm not sure. Wolverine 2 Script Is Done And Ready To Head To Japan

Wolverine 2 Script Is Done And Ready To Head To Japan I actually didn't hate the first film as much as a lot of fans of Wolverine. I mean of course there were holes in the movie that didn't follow the comic book but overall a descent movie in my opinion. And looks like the script for the second film is done and ready to go. At this time no director has been signed to the film. I am sure they will not have a problem finding someone. The script was based on Frank Miller and Chris Claremont Story cycle of the Wolverine story when he heads to my motherland looking for adventures in martial arts will be a love story featuring a Japanese actress, I am told. “It’s a beautiful story,” says a source, “and will be very different than the first film.” The script was written by Christopher McQuarrie of “X-Men” and “Valkyrie” fame.
