Trailer For Thor: The Dark World

A first look at Thor: The Dark World has arrived online this morning, and it's looking like things will indeed be bigger, badder and a fair bit darker for the sequel to 2011's Norse blockbuster. This time, Chris Hemsworth's Thor is back on Earth to defend us all against the deadly forces of Malkeith (Christopher Eccleston), leader of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim. Well, at the very least he's here to pick up Natalie Portman and get her out of harm's way, which we suppose is close enough. And it looks from this like he's going to need help from his disgraced brother Loki ( Tom Hiddleston ). Hooray! Er. We mean, boo hiss. Let's hope he gets hold of his horned helmet and/or some hair conditioner soon.  The whole thing is directed by Game Of Thrones' Alan Taylor - which perhaps explains all those warm looking cloaks (after all, winter is coming) - and also stars Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Jaime Ale

Adebisi Joins The Cast Of THOR Sequel The Dark World

Team Marvel, which is still in the midst of making Thor sequel The Dark World , has snagged former Mr. Eko on Lost , Simon Adebisi on Oz and Nykwana Wombosi in The Bourne Identity, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje to play not one but – count ‘em – two roles in the movie. The actor, who has also appeared in the likes of G.I. Joe, Faster, The Thing and Unstoppable, is on board to initially play Algrim the Strong , the toughest of the Dark Elves ruled by Malekith ( Christopher Eccleston ) who fight Thor and his family. But when Malekith betrays him, Algrim is injured in battle, only to be healed and turned into Kurse, a being who is described as twice as strong as Asdgard’s finest. How much of the comic lore surrounding him will translate to the screen has yet to be seen, but from the sounds of his dual role, they may be staying true to his tale. Alan Taylor is calling the shots even now in London, with Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Jamie Alexande

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Gets A Rewrite

Chris McCoy is being tapped to rewrite Guardians of the Galaxy , Marvel Studios’ space adventure movie. Galaxy is part of Marvel’s second wave of movies and is the only new title among the crop of mostly sequels featuring Iron Man, Thor and Captain America . It was revealed as the company’s mystery movie in late June and officially announced at Comic-Con in July. While there have been several incarnations of the team in the comics over the years, the movie’s lineup will include Drax the Destroyer , a human resurrected as a green warrior with the sole purpose of killing Thanos (the villain in the Avengers final-scene tease); Groot , a giant tree-man; Star-Lord , a gun-toting half-human/half-alien intergalactic vigilante; Rocket Raccoon , a genetically engineered animal with a knack for guns and explosives; and Gamora , the last survivor of her species who was saved by Thanos to be his assassin but now battles him. Nicole Perlman wrote the previous draft. Perlman is graduate of

Doctor Who Is The Villain In Thor 2

British actor Christopher Eccleston , who played Doctor Who during the 2005 season of the BBC sci-fi show, is in final negotiations to play the villain in Thor 2 , Marvel Studios’ sequel to its 2011 hit. Alan Taylor is directing the picture, which is officially titled Thor: The Dark World , and brings back most of the first movie’s cast, including Chris Hemsworth , who plays Thor. Could Zachary Levi Join Thor 2?- Plot details are being kept in the farthest reaches of Valhalla, but Ellleston will play the ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim . Eccleston has a penchant for playing bad guys, as he did in 28 Days Later , NBC’s Heroes , and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra , where he played Destro. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

Could Zachary Levi Join Thor 2?

Marvel Studios is targeting Zachary Levi to join the cast of Thor 2 . He would replace Josh Dallas in the film. Dallas played Fandral, one of the Warriors Three in Thor, but is bowing out of the sequel to the 2011 hit movie due to his commitments to the ABC show Once Upon a Time . Thor 2 Villains. 8 Guess Who It Will Be- Levi’s involvement may blessed by the gods, however. He was in talks to originally play the role in 2010 but had to bow out when his cult NBC show Chuck got a last-minute reprieve from cancellation and an episode extension. Levi’s talks are in at an early stage -- negotiations have not yet begun, according to sources -- but an offer is imminent. Thor 2 is gearing up fast for a July start. Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor is set to hop into the director’s chair. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins are returning, and Mads Mikkelsen is in negotiations to play the villain. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR >

Thor 2 Villains. 8 Guess Who It Will Be

Here's the problem with Thor : His rogue's gallery is more of a collection than a gallery. He's not overflowing with titanic baddies. With Thor 2 heating up—and Marvel's cinematic honcho promising a "major, major" villain—we started thinking of who it might be. While we know that Earth's Mightiest Heroes will take on Thanos in Avengers 2 —if you haven't seen this movie by now, then you kinda deserve to have it spoiled—it's less clear who the God of Thunder will take on in his sequel. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says that Thanos won't be in Thor 2 , but "there will be a major new villain. A major, major new antagonist ..." And Casino Royale baddie Mads Mikkelson is, apparently, in talks to join the Thor 2 cast as a vllian. So, who could Thor Odinson be up against? Here are some candidates. ENCHANTRESS Thor is many things, but one of them is a man, stranded very far from the woman he loves. In the comics, Odin

Mads Mikkelsen To Join Thor 2

Double dip day over at the Marvel casting offices continues with word that Thor 2 is in the process of recruiting a new villain. Not content with taking on James Bond in Casino Royale , Mads Mikkelsen is in talks to tangle with Asgard’s favourite son in the superhero sequel. What this means is that Tom Hiddleston ’s Loki will crop up very briefly, then be seen disappearing over a golden cliff in a ball of flame…. JUST KIDDING, HIDDLESTONERS! According to Variety, everyone’s favourite god of mischief will still be causing problems for everyone, but if Mikkelsen locks in a deal, Loki’ll have some help. Exactly which villain Mikkelsen is up for has yet to be revealed. Thor has an extensive rogues gallery, so he could be anything – Executioner, Mangog, Mephisto… Give us your best guess in the comments below or in the Twitsphere. Most of the original cast are scheduled to return alongside Empire Award-winner / Army leader Hiddleston , including Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anth

Idris Elba Has No Good Deed

Idris Elba ’s film career is going great guns at the moment, with a heartily varied range of roles. And now it looks like he wants to try his hand at being truly menacing. He’s signed on to co-star with Taraji P Henson in the thriller No Good Deed . The act of charity in question involves Henson as a former District Attorney who has opted to become a stay-at-home-mom to her two children. Their lives take a turn for the scare-shaped when they offer a ride to a compelling stranger whose car runs off the road in front of them. Cue kidnapping, terror and, we’d expect, Henson getting the chance to be tough. Clearly, there is a lesson to be learned from all of this: do not ever five strangers a ride from the side of the road even if they are as seemingly as charming and handsome as Idris Elba . Among Giants director Sam Miller, who oversaw the majority of Luther episodes, is on board to make the film starting next month in Atlanta. Elba will next be seen in Ridley Scott’s Prome
