BRAVE Easter Eggs Revealed

Fans of Disney•Pixar’s feature films love to scour the screen in search of the Hidden Gems the filmmakers sneak into each film: WALL•E’s explorationsuncover a Mike Wazowski antenna ball, paying homage to Monsters, Inc., and in Up, the classic Luxo Jr. ball can be seen in the girl’s bedroom as CarlFredricksen’s house flies by her window. Disney•Pixar’s epic action adventure Brave features a few such gems, two of which are revealed here: ANCIENT DELIVERY – The Witch, an eccentric crone disguised as a woodcarver specializing in whittling wooden bear figurines and conjuring haphazard spells, showcases her mysterious and inexplicable knowledge of the future with a carved figurine of the infamous Pizza Planet truck, an iconic delivery vehicle that’s appeared in nearly every full-length feature film from Pixar Animation Studios since 1995’s Toy Story. BRAVE Review By: MattINRC

BRAVE Review By: MattINRC BRAVE is a visual delight that misses at too many key points and doesn't take enough chances. If there's one studio that's absolutely dominated in the past 15 years, it's Pixar. From their 1995 classic Toy Story to the equally heart-warming Up, the company has taken animation to new levels, pulling gems and instant classics with amazing consistency. While animation is their acumen, their key has always been in strong storytelling: who would have thought that toys, cars, rats, fish, and monsters would have such wide-ranging appeal. It's Pixar singular ability to breathe real emotions into their animated characters that makes everything they touch turn to box office cash. Well, almost everything: that road has recently been pitted with a few critical disappointments: Cars 2 was unappealing and Toy Story 3 was downright creepy (toys holding hands in the fiery hell of a compactor is weird). With the release of  BRAVE , the animation

New TV Clip From Pixar's BRAVE

Today we got a new clip from Pixar's BRAVE . Set in the Highlands of Scotland, Brave tells the story of the headstrong Princess Merida (voiced by Kelly Macdonald ) who rejects her traditional role (marriage, baking, wee'uns) in favour of a more perilous route (adventure, battle, bears). In the process she upsets parents King Fergus ( Billy Connolly ) and Queen Elinor ( Emma Thompson ), and more dangerously, the domineering Lords of the land: MacGuffin ( Kevin McKidd ), MacIntosh ( Craig Ferguson ) and Dingwall ( Robbie Coltrane ). First we have a shot of Merida from Disney/Pixar’s Brave, drawing back her bow at the archery competition designed to find her a proper suitor as others look on. Admittedly the resolution of this image is pretty harsh, so we hope to have a better one in the near future which we will add permanently to our gallery for the film. Brave is the grand adventure of Merida, a skilled archer who confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts t

Del Toro Set to Write and Produce Haunted Mansion

Del Toro Set to Write and Produce Film for Disney SAN DIEGO, Calif. – July 22, 2010 – Guillermo del Toro surprised the 6,500 fans gathered today at Comic-Con with the announcement that he is currently developing a new film for The Walt Disney Studios based on the classic Disney theme park attraction, The Haunted Mansion… “Dark imagery is an integral part of the Walt Disney legacy. After all, Disney himself was the father of some really chilling moments and characters – think Chernabog from Fantasia or Maleficent as the Dragon or the Evil Queen in Snow White,” said del Toro. “I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of my own adaptation of the original theme park attraction Walt envisioned and that remains- for me- the most desirable piece of real estate in the whole world!” “Millions of people from around the world visit The Haunted Mansion each year, but no one has ever had a tour guide like Guillermo del Toro,” said Rich Ross, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. “Guillermo is
