Still officially untitled, it was once known as Headshot and is currently being referred to as Bullet To The Head. Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to star in Black Sands , an action film that will be directed by Scott Waugh and Mike McCoy. Financed by Bill Block’s QED, the film will begin production April 1, 2012. In the script that Skip Woods has rewritten, Schwarzenegger will play a loner who wages war against a ruthless weapons manufacturer and his private army in the Southwest. The tone is Man On Fire meets High Plains Drifter. Block will be selling worldwide territories starting today. Woods scripted A Good Day To Die Hard , which Fox is readying for production. Waugh and McCoy most recently directed Act Of Valor , an action adventure that features actual Navy SEALs. That film was acquired at an auction for distribution by Relativity Media, which paid a $13 million minimum guarantee and a $30 million P&A commitment, and scheduled the film for release on February 17, which is President’s Day Weekend. I was invited to cover the “ Puss In Boots ” promotional tour stop in San Francisco last night and I was able to score a nice little scoop from Mr. Puss In Boots himself Antonio Banderas . A day after he unveiled a giant, bronze statue of himself in his hometown of Thal, Austria, Arnold Schwarzenegger was back on set for The Expendables 2 . The former California governor shared a picture of himself with fellow Expendables 2 actors Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis . The ’80s action icons look pretty relaxed in the image from the set in Bulgaria. “Back in action for The Expendables 2! I'm having a fantastic time on set with Bruce and Sly in Bulgaria,” wrote Schwarzenegger. Schwarzenegger looks particularly relaxed in his Hawaiian shirt, while Stallone stands with his arms crossed and what looks like weapons on the legs of his costume. The median age of the Expendables 2 cast is about to come down by a few digits, as Liam Hemsworth has agreed to sign on to the movie. Schwarzenegger is in early talks to play an American real estate magnate living in Brazil who is kidnapped and held for ransom. As he frantically searches for a way out of his armored-truck prison cell hidden in a Sao Paolo landfill, a detective specializing in kidnap and ransom cases works to find him. Benjamin van der Veen and Kario Salem wrote the script from a story by Nicolai Fuglsig. Fuglsig was originally going to direct but stepped out, and he will be exec producer with Eva Maria Daniels. After The Expendables turned in a surprisingly strong $275 million worldwide gross, many have wondered what they would do for an encore. How’s this? Lionsgate announced an August 17, 2012 release date for The Expendables 2 . The film currently has the slot to itself, with G.I. Joe 2 scheduled to hit theaters a week earlier on August 10. Sylvester Stallone 's first film earned an impressive $274.5 million worldwide on a budget of $80 million.
