In a deal worth $1 million upfront, GK Films has acquired Little White Corvette , the Michael Diliberti script that has  Emma Stone  attached to star. Stone, who most recently completed The Amazing Spider-Man and who’s got some Oscar buzz for her performance in The Help , had an open slot that had several studios buzzing. Shooting on this one will begin in late summer and Scott Aversano will produce with GK’s Graham King and Tim Headington. Diliberti wrote the story with David Branson Smith. Stone and Diliberti will be exec producers. Stone had been interested in the script since last summer. It’s a two-hander about a nerdy guy and his wild older sister who travel to Miami to try and sell a million-dollar stash of ’70s cocaine they found in the trunk of their late father’s car. Looking to keep The Amazing Spider-Man in our festively blurred noggins over this quiet period between Christmas and New Year, Sony has shoved out a few new pictures from the film on to the web. Focusing mostly on Peter Parker ( Andrew Garfield )’s early days as the web-shooting hero, the new images feature him discovering his new found powers and going a little bit Teen Wolf on the high school basketball court. There is also a nice, close look at the mechanical web system he’ll be using, a switch back to the character’s roots before more recent comic runs – and Sam Raimi’s cinematic version – had them as organic developments. With a trailer making its debut at the VGAs, Marvel drops some info on the tie-in videogame for this summer's reboot to the Spider-Man movie franchise. You couldn't expect the summer to come up on us with a new Spider-Man movie and not get a new game from publisher Activision, could you? Well, there is a new one being developed by Beenox Studios, the team behind the most recent Spider-Man game, Edge of Time, which I thought was pretty solid, if a little constrained by its closed in environment. This isn't what I was expecting and let's see if this is how the final product will look like. Here is some background on The Lizard : Curtis Connors was born in Coral Gables, Florida. Sony announced last week that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would be released on May 2, 2014, before they even have any idea whether we like the first film in the rebooted franchise. But that's not all Marvel has in store for us in 2014. Disney announced today it would be releasing TWO more Marvel movies in 2014—one on May 16, 2014, two weeks after the coming Spidey sequel, and another on June 27, 2014—but they're not saying a word about just which superheroes will be invading theaters two summers from now. By then, we'll have seen Avengers (May 4, 2012), Iron Man 3 (May 3, 2013) and Thor 2 (July 26, 2013)—so where does that leave us? WIll it be time for a return of one of the superheroes we've already seen on screen, maybe a Captain America 2 ? Or will we get to see someone new, like Dr. Strange or the Guardians of the Galaxy ? Executives at Columbia Pictures think they have a winner with their new web-spinner. “ The Amazing Spider-Man ” doesn’t reach theaters until July 3, 2012, but the studio has already locked in a May 2, 2014, release date for a sequel. Columbia isn’t even done shooting The Amazing Spider-Man , its Spider-Man reboot, but it has already begun working on a sequel. James Vanderbilt , who penned Amazing , will be back behind the keyboard for the continuation of the new movie franchise. Vanderbilt had a meeting with the Spider-Man filmmakers and studio execs yesterday outlining his take, getting a thumbs up, and will now begin writing. Vanderbilt has become part of the Spider-Man family at Columbia, which has enjoyed great success with a tightknit group of creative people. Vanderbilt first worked on Spider-Man 4 for the studio, back when Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire were planning to continue the series. At the time, he was chosen for his character-driven approach to the story rather than a focus on special effects and worked on an outline for a trio of films. It has been speculated so much that we just take it as fact at this point. But there has not been a solid confirmation that The Lizard is the main villain of The Amazing Spider-Man until right this very second. Actor C. Thomas Howell recently appeared on The Retroradio, and he confirmed that the Lizard will battle Peter Parker, and that his character's son is involved in the choas. Here is what C. Anyone with reservations about The Hughes Brothers ' upcoming Akira might take some comfort from the fact that great efforts are being made to crack the script before the project goes before the cameras. Kloves previously adapted Michael Chabon's Wonder Boys and is one of two credited screenwriters on something called The Amazing Spider-Man , but he's probably best known for having beaten every single Harry Potter novel (apart from The Order of the Phoenix) into movie shape.
