BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

#StarWarsSmugglersBounty Review: May 2016

May's reliable Star Wars/Funko Smuggler's Bounty sub box is also a BOUNTY HUNTER'S dream. Review by Matt Cummings For a series that's delivered so consistently as Funko's Star Wars, there's also a feeling that things might be getting a little stale. Believe me, it's better than the whipsaw efforts by Geek Fuel (thinking about cancelling) and Loot Crate (cancelled), but May's BOUNTY HUNTERS box provides growing evidence that, while still very reliable, the monthly sub box might need to shake things up a bit going forward. Before diving in, let's review the details: The cost for a Month to Month is $25 (plus S/H), or $150 (plus S/H) for a one-year subscription. You get one box every other month, with SB promising $50 in value and no fluff. If you choose the Smuggler membership (yearly), you are promised an additional gift on your anniversary. Guess which one we chose. Again, this month's theme is BOUNTY HUNTERS, highlighting th

#StarWarsSmugglersBounty Review: March 2016

Even in an off month, The Star Wars/Funko Smuggler's Bounty sub box is never dull. Review by Matt Cummings As the nature of geek boxes continues to pan out as we expected - with whipsaw efforts from now-lesser boxes - Star Wars and Marvel Collector Corps continue their unequalled dominance. This is more true when you look at March's Star Wars box. Although there's no new movie out - and none planned until December's Rogue One - the box is far superior to those by Geek Fuel and Loot Crate (which we've now cancelled). With this month's theme as CANTINA, we see SB giving us a nice collection of items with only one item failing to connect. Before diving in, let's review the details: The cost for a Month to Month is $25 (plus S/H), or $150 (plus S/H) for a one-year subscription. Blu-ray Review: STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

RAMA is back and this time he reviews Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The force is strong with this one. The best ' Star Wars ' movie since ' The Empire Strikes Back ' I can’t thank Disney and Lucasfilm enough for sending me this advance copy of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Blu-Ray . I was geekin’ out like a fat kid on a buffet line when I received this copy in the mail, it was like Christmas in Spring, it was like having my birthday party all over again, there’s no better way than that to describe such joy. The box art cover alone looks so pretty, it’s hypnotic, I can’t keep my eyes off of it, this blending of the old original generation with the new is just as thrilling as the movie itself. Now, the Blu-Ray, contains so many bonus features, I’m going to talk about some of them here, but heads up, it may be spoilery. Let’s talk quickly about the film first and if you recalled my review back in December, I made it clear that although I understand fans’ criticism

#StarWarsSmugglersBounty Review: January 2016

The Star Wars/Funko Smuggler's Bounty sub box sparks familiar (and disappointing) themes. Review by Matt Cummings As we've chronicled for you over the past year, geek subscription boxes have been mired in a whipsaw that see quality and timing take a consistent beating. One month it's the extraordinary, the next we're wondering why we bothered. Few have consistently presented their best face, with Marvel Collector Corps and Star Wars rising to the top. But as we saw with this month's Smuggler's Bounty , some contents are starting to repeat themselves. Sporting a theme of THE RESISTANCE, this

Han Solo Casting Narrowing Down

Variety is reporting Disney and Lucasfilm are inching closer to finding their young Han Solo for the upcoming untitled “ Star Wars ” spinoff. After seeing thousands of actors, execs have cut the list down to about a dozen actors with Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood, Logan Lerman , “Brooklyn” star Emory Cohen and “Everybody Wants Some” actor Blake Jenner among the names making the cut. NDAs and test deals are still being worked out, but producer Kathleen Kennedy and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will begin testing the new group with a decision expected in the next couple of weeks. The film does not shoot until next January, but sources close to the situation say the reason for such an early decision has more to do with another “Star Wars” film currently shooting, rather than the untitled “Han Solo” pic. While insiders were unable to confirm, the new Solo could have a small cameo in “Rogue One: A Star Wars” before appearing in his own
