Lucasfilm is pleased to announce the cast of the first-ever Star Wars live-action series – The Mandalorian . Pedro Pascal (Narcos) has been cast in the title role as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. He is joined by Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man) and Nick Nolte (Affliction). “We’re having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for everyone to see what we’re up to,” says Executive Producer Jon Favreau. Just a day or so after the news that Pedro Pascal is locking down a deal to star in Star Wars spin-off series The Mandalorian (even though it has already started shooting), there'a a second piece of casting info. Gina Carano will join him in the series. The Mandalorian , which is due to premiere on the new Disney streaming service known as Disney+, has an official synopsis out in the galaxy already, albeit one that leaves plenty of details still to come. "After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerged in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic...." Aside from this year's San Diego Comic-Con, mostly what we've seen of anticipated superhero sequel Wonder Woman 1984 has come from director Patty Jenkins' Twitter feed. She's back with a new image that features Pedro Pascal in a none-more-'80s power suit, which you can see above. No information has been released about who Pascal is playing, but that tie alone screams "wrong 'un!" We'll have to wait and see who he turns out to be. Gal Gadot is definitely back as Diana Prince, this time battling evil ( Kristen Wiig will cause trouble for her as archaeologist Barbara Minerva, who becomes the villain known as Cheetah) and we'll also see Chris Pine 's Steve Trevor, who is mysteriously back despite kicking the bucket in explosive style at the end of the first film. Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing an all-new foe: The Cheetah. Principal photography is underway on Warner Bros. Pictures’ follow up to the Super Hero’s first outing, last summer’s record-breaking “ Wonder Woman ,” which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office. “ Wonder Woman 1984 ” will also be helmed by acclaimed director Patty Jenkins, and star Gal Gadot in the title role. Not so great after all. Review by Brandon Wolfe The Great Wall is a joint venture between the United States and China, the largest such co-production ever undertaken. It was shot in China, features a predominately Chinese cast and was helmed by a noted Chinese director, Zhang Yimou. This pedigree serves, perhaps, to make the film seem more exotic and culturally distinguished than your average bonehead American blockbuster. Alas, it isn’t.
