BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Marley & Me Series Coming To NBC

NBC has handed out a hefty put-pilot commitment to a sequel to 2008 feature Marley & Me , The Hollywood Reporter has learned. From The Big C and Sex and the City alum Jenny Bicks, the single-camera comedy will pick up where the Fox 2000 Pictures/Regency Enterprises film — itself based on John Grogan's best-seller — left off. John (played by Owen Wilson in the film) and Jenny Grogan ( Jennifer Aniston ) and their two boys, now 14 and 11, have just moved back to Florida so that John can take up his newspaper column again. However, when a stray puppy ("owned," but not well, by their neighbors) ends up on their doorstep, they are forced to adopt it. This dog, named Marley for the fact that they use Marley's old leash and tags on her, is as willful, destructive and delightful as her original namesake. And she will help shed light not only on the growing pains of the Grogan family, but also the lives of the neighbors, and fellow dog-owners, around them. Bick

Upfronts 2014: Networks Announce Strange New Pilots

What's replacing all those sacked television shows?  We peel back the onion to find out! Story by: Matt Cummings This last week saw all five television networks announce their cancellations and renewals .  That leaves nearly 100 potential new shows in the oven, each vying for our hearts, space on our DVR's, and ultimately our time.  But first each has to appear before advertisers, whose votes will determine which are picked up and those that get sent back to the baker. As we prepared to post this, it became clear that two new trends had appeared in several new shows: first, the stranger their plot, the more apt to be considered.  And like that smelly stuff which has been thrown against the wall, the networks are hoping these will stick.  Second, many of these are rejects of previous pilots, regurgitated and repainted for your pleasure.  Neither of these sound particularly appealing Rather than share all of them, we've hand-picked a selected lot which sadly

Network Television Shows We Guarantee Are Returning Next Year (UPDATED)

Is your favorite show returning next year? Check our list to find out!

NBC's #Constantine Trailers

After its was announced that it would be going to series in the US last week, it was inevitable that the first trailer for the TV take on DC’s Constantine would arrive in short order. So it has come to pass, with initial footage heading online as the big American networks prepare to do their song-and-dance for advertisers this week in New York at the Upfronts. This first active look at the show largely cements our hopes for something closer to the Hellblazer comics than the 2005 film that cast Keanu Reeves as a tortured American take on John Constantine . Though Matt Ryan is using his native Welsh lilt rather than aiming for Liverpudlian, voice-wise, he has a welcome wry, world-weariness about him. And with Neil Marshall directing the first episode, it certainly has a decent scope to kick off with. As this first teaser demonstrates, we’re promised a brisk introduction to John’s supernatural world, a place he’s largely tried to eschew. But when demons target Liv ( Lucy Griffi

The Blacklist Picked Up For A Second Season

One of our favorite shows has been picked up for a second season. NBC has just announced a a full 22-episode second season order for their new hit “ The Blacklist ,” which stands as Broadcast television’s number one drama in the 18-49 demographic. The announcement was made jointly by Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment, and Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment. “ The success of ‘The Blacklist ’ demonstrates that inspired storytelling is alive and well in broadcast television, and I’m impressed on a daily basis by this creative team’s imagination and the extent to which they will go to capture this grand vision on film,” Greenblatt said. “With gratitude to both our partners at Sony Pictures Television and our NBC development executives who took a great script and shepherded it into a great series, I hope that Red Reddington never runs out of names to bring down on his list!” Added Salke: “We are very proud of the creative achievements of ‘The Blacklist,’ startin

The Verdict - Two More New Fall Shows Are Axed. Early Network Cancellations Are Not As Uncommon As You May Think.

The Verdict - Two More New Fall Shows Are Axed By: MattInRC Not one but two new fall shows fall to the axe as NBC cleans house. And more are on the way. It's one thing to have to have the first new show of the fall season cancelled ( ABC's Lucky Seven ) but to have two NBC shows cancelled at the same time is interesting. It was learned Friday that the network had cancelled both Ironside and Welcome to the Family , outdoing the single rejects from ABC and CBS ( We are Men ). NBC had been late to the cancellation party, but the news on Friday sent a clear message: if you don't have the immediate audience numbers, we'll move on with something else. For now, that 'something else' is repeats of favorite shows ( CBS will re-run Big Bang Theory while NBC will air new episodes of The Voice and Dateline ), while the networks reload. Late-season replacements - shows originally deemed not good enough for the fall run but now suddenly look appealing - are probably

Fuller’s Hannibal Get's A Full Plate

We were always bullish on this one. Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal project just got a direct-to-series order. NBC has picked up 13 episodes of the thriller TV series based on Thomas Harris’ classic cannibal serial killer. Logline: “One-hour contemporary thriller series featuring the classic characters from Thomas Harris’ novel Red Dragon – FBI agent Will Graham and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter – who are re-introduced at the beginning of their budding relationship.” So that includes some new information. Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Heroes) is focusing on damaged FBI profiler Graham instead of Clarice Starling (popularized by Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs). Graham is the agent who captured Lecter when the psychiatrist was on his killing/eating spree. The first question is who will play Lecter — a part that one could argue is either a dream role, or a thankless gig considering the inevitable comparisons to Anthony Hopkins ’ Oscar-winning take on the character. Another questi

SMASH is an upcoming American musical series set to premiere on NBC, Monday, February 6, 2012 The SMASH screening will take place on January 9, 2012 - 7:30 PM at AMC Metreon 16 with IMAX There's nothing more exciting than the opening night of a hit Broadway musical, except maybe what happens getting there. While Wicked and The Lion King pack audiences in on the Great White Way, Julia and Tom, a successful songwriting team played by Debra Messing and Christian Borle , begin work on a new musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe . When a tenacious producer ( Anjelica Houston ) jumps aboard, so begins the difficult task of casting the silver screen icon. Ivy Lynn, a tough Broadway veteran, seems like the obvious choice.

Bryan Singer To Direct The Munsters TV Show

Bryan Singer is moving from mutants to Munsters . The producer-director-writer, who has been involved with three of the X-Men films in the superhero franchise, is closing in on a deal to direct and executive produce NBC's The Munsters . The project, which received a pilot order earlier this month, is billed as an imaginative reinvention of the classic comedy series as a visually spectacular one-hour drama. Singer will executive produce alongside Bryan Fuller (Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies), who also is writing the Universal Television-produced project. Fuller and NBC first made an attempt to revive the 1960s CBS sitcom last year, with the network ultimately passing. His newer version is said to be an edgier and slightly darker take exploring origins of Herman and Lily Munster (originally played by Fred Gwynne and Yvonne De Carlo) and how they arrived at the famed 1313 Mockingbird Lane address. The original series, produced by Universal Studios, aired 70 episodes from 1

Ethan Hawke & Vince D’Onofrio Cast In NBC Cop Drama "Blue Tilt"

In what will instantly become one of this season’s highest-profile drama projects, Deadline reports that Ethan Hawke and Vince D’Onofrio have teamed with writer-producer Chris Brancato for a cop drama that has been nabbed by NBC with a production commitment. Brancato conceived the project, titled Blue Tilt , and took it to Hawke and D’Onofrio, who helped shape it. All three will executive produce. The show will star Hawke and D’Onofrio as two seasoned homicide detectives — one married and one divorced — as they solve cases while dealing with their wives/ex-wives and kids. The title Blue Tilt refers to a cop term for homicide detectives who, as a result of dealing with particularly brutal crimes, become a danger to themselves and are put under psychiatric observation. I hear that the pilot is targeted for a production start by the end of the year in New York, where both Hawke and D’Onofrio live. The two actors are old friends and co-starred in the 2009 feature Staten Island to

NBC Buys Dwayne"The Rock" Johnson's Wrestling Pilot

NBC has bought a wrestling drama from Jerry Bruckheimer . Dwayne Johnson , the wrestler-turned-actor formerly known by his ring name " The Rock ," is also attached as an executive producer on the fictional drama project, which has a put pilot commitment at the network. It is set in the world of wrestling in the 1980s. The one-hour project, which hails from Jerry Bruckheimer Television in association with Warner Bros. Television, counts Brent Fletcher (Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena) and Seamus Kevin Fahey (The Forgotten, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena) as co-executive producers and writers, with KristieAnne Reed (Chase, Dark Blue) on board as a co-EP. Bruckheimer TV's Jonathan Littman will join Bruckheimer and Johnson as an executive producer. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

James Spader To Join The Office

The Office is close to naming a new boss. According to sources, James Spader is finalizing a deal to become a series regular on NBC's top-rated comedy. The move, first reported by EW.com and confirmed by THR , would follow Spader's successful turn on the season finale as one of multiple celebrity guest stars who were vying for Michael Scott's job as boss at Dunder Mifflin's Scranton office. But sources say the plan is for Spader to actually get an even better job: CEO of Dunder Mifflin parent Sabre , replacing Kathy Bates . Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

NBC's Wonder Woman Pictures & Pilot Review

ifanboy got their hands on the pilot from the never aired David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman show on NBC. They were also able to take some screen shots from the show,    Adrianne Palicki  as Wonder Woman. Not bad right?  I really wish they would have given the show a shot and let the fans be the judge. Hopefully it will end up somewhere. . For contextual purposes, you might want to check out their review of the script before reading my review of the pilot. WHAT CHANGED FROM THE SCRIPT? While the overall plot remains the same, many of the details changed. Some notable elements that are missing from the pilot are: Themyscira – Throughout the script Wonder Woman constantly flashed back to her time on Paradise Island including her warrior training and meeting and falling for Steve Trevor. None of this appears in the pilot. Myndi Mayer – In the script she is Diana’s best friend and the press secretary at Themyscira Industries. She does not appear at all in the pilot; instead

NBC's Wonder Women's Full Costume. What Could Have Been

Ah what could have been if  NBC they didn't jump the pilot for the Wonder Women show. MMMMMM Today we get a full shot of Adrianne Palicki in the full, final Wonder Woman costume that would have been seen in the TV series, if the pilot had been picked up, star spangled shorts and all. She is in something closer to the Lynda Carter's outfit we all loved. And I have no clue who that freakishly scary guy next to her is maybe a villain on the show? Why Wonder Woman Didn't Get Pickup

Though he picked up plenty of high-profile projects like Playboy, The Firm and Prime Suspect , NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt knew he’d have to answer for the one project he didn’t greenlight: What the heck was wrong with Wonder Woman and why didn’t it make the schedule? Not surprisingly, Greenblatt was diplomatic about the reboot from Warner Bros. TV and David E. Kelley (after all, the uber-producer is also the man behind Harry’s Law, which earned a second season pickup). “I hate to disappoint anybody. I know there are legions of fans of the original show,” Greenblatt told EW. “I don’t know if it’s cursed or what. I just have this one experience. They made a really fine pilot and Adrianne Palicki did a fantastic job. You look at what you have, what you need, and it just didn’t seem to fit in with what we were doing. “We did what was best for the schedule,” Greenblatt continued. “It does give one pause. You’re almost damned if you and damned if you don’t. It’s tricky

Wonder Woman TV Show Not Given A Chance

This spring, no pilot was more buzzy, controversial, or intensely scrutinized than " Wonder Woman ." But evidently, buzz is not enough to overcome the stink of a misbegotten failure: This week, NBC declined to pick up the show. The news comes as the networks prepare for their upfront presentations (where they unveil their fall schedules for advertisers). " Wonder Woman " would have seemed to be a sure thing: It was produced by David E. Kelley, whose TV successes with the network date back to "L.A. Law," and starred geek-bait stars like Cary "The Princess Bride" Elwes and Elizabeth "Austin Powers" Hurley. But reports of its abysmal script (which was later rewritten, to slightly more positive effect) seem to have been borne out in a pilot episode NBC could not approve. The ongoing agita over the design of the title character's costume — which producers attempted to quell by announcing Wonder Woman would actually alternate three diff

NBC's Chuck Return's For A 5th Season

Perennial bubble show Chuck has apparently avoided cancellation once again. While NBC sources are not confirming that the spy-fi series will get a fifth season, several sources are reporting that a deal is being hammered out with Warner Bros. and is imminent. Though the ratings have been at their lowest this spring, Warner Bros. would love to make a deal, because five seasons of Chuck means syndication. As for NBC, well, scripted drama has not been the network's friend. That said, don't be surprised if we get a shorter 13-episode final season. So, while it looks like fans won't have to eat mountains of Subway sandwiches to save Chuck as they did to insure a third season of the show, there are no such hopeful murmurings for The Event, which has even lower ratings. The alien conspiracy series is not likely to be renewed. Please Leave A Comment- Source- SyFY

Amber Heard On The Set Of NBC's The Playboy Club

First picture of Amber Heard on the set of The Playboy Club Via her facebook page . The NBC pilot follows Heard as a troubled girl from Fort Wayne, who moves to the big city and becomes a Playboy Bunny. The pilot is directed by Alan Taylor. Co-starring Eddie Cibrian, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Leah Renee and Wes Ramsey . Not really sure how this is going to work on prime time television. See the entire picture after the Jump... Wonder Woman Costume Change

We all remember the first images we saw of Adrianne Palicki in the new Wonder Woman costume. Looks like enough fans cried and screamed that they did a redesign on her outfit. NBC took some of the criticisms to heart. I could care less, A sexy woman is a sexy woman in either outfit. To see pictures of the ageless Elizabeth Hurley on set, check them out HERE . The upcoming show stars Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman — aka Diana Prince, Elizabeth Hurley as villain Veronica Cale, the beautiful, highly educated head of one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country who is afflicted with serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy and Tracie Thoms will play the regular role of Etta, Diana Themyscira (Palicki)'s always cheerful personal assistant. David E. Kelley Talks Wonder Woman

The Peacock is also moving ahead with a Kelley-penned reboot of Wonder Woman , an idea that has the nerd herd up in arms. The upcoming show stars  Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman   — aka Diana Prince,  Elizabeth Hurley as  villain   Veronica Cale , the beautiful, highly educated head of one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country who is afflicted with serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy and  Tracie Thoms  will play the regular role of   Etta , Diana Themyscira (Palicki)'s always cheerful personal assistant. Speaking of inviting scrutiny: Wonder Woman . Why did you decide to take this on? Well I first said no, for all the obvious reasons. It’s not really what I do; it’s not a genre that’s in my wheelhouse. But then I started thinking about, What if there were such a person in today’s world and what must it be like to be her? And I was imagining the sense of social isolation that she must feel, that she indeed would probably be a rather complicated beast. When I
