Variety is reporting Frank Grillo is in final negotiations to return to star in Universal, Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes’ “ The Purge 3 .” “T he Purge” franchise creator James DeMonaco is back to write and direct the latest sequel. Jason Blum is producing along with Sebastien Lemercier and Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller through their Platinum Dunes banner. Buddy-cop threequel is what Joe’s gonna do. By Brandon Wolfe Bad Boys is essentially the Before Sunrise of action-comedy franchises, given the unusual length of time between each installment. The original came out a whopping 20 years ago. Its sequel followed eight years after that. And now, after all this time, a third film is just now starting to come together. A script has been written by David Guggenheim, who wrote Safe House , and Sacramento’s own Joe Carnahan, director of The Grey , is in talks to direct. The sequel hopes to reunite Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. Sony intends to push the project very quickly into development so that it could potentially fill the slot Smith will have open immediately following the currently-shooting Suicide Squad . Michael Bay has released a photo giving us our first look at   Stephen Amel l as vigilante Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 . The mask he's wearing seems to have all the elements of what we've seen in the comics. Turtles 2 stars Megan Fox, Brian Tee, Alessandra Ambrosio, William Fichtner, Will Arnett , and Tyler Perry . That sequel will now add Tyler Perry , of all people, as Baxter Stockman, a scientist well-known to fans of TMNT lore. Stockman was the inventor of the Mousers, robotic exterminators used to deal with rat infestations, and thus a viable weapon for Shredder to wield against Splinter, the Turtles’ rat sensei. In the cartoon series, Stockman also became a human/fly hybrid creature, because Cronenberg’s The Fly was all the rage at the time, but there’s no word yet if that incarnation of Stockman will be on the table in the film.
