In the new 'Kick-Ass: Creating the Comic, Making the Movie' movie companion let it out a huge tidbit slip when he talked about the direction of the characters of the upcoming Kick-Ass film will take in the comic books and upcoming sequel "One of my favorite ideas in superhero comics is the exposure of the secret identity... I like the idea of doing that to somebody like Kick-Ass, who's going to have real-world ramifications if his secret identity gets exposed. I wanted that in the first volume but there was just no room, so I shifted it all into the second volume." In the book, the comic book writer also hints at the future for Kick-Ass's friend-turned-foe, Red Mist: "Red Mist surviving, becoming the super-villain was always planned, but the idea was that he was going to be a more m

Amazing Kick-Ass Red-Band Trailer #2

Amazing Kick-Ass Red-Band Trailer #2 If you haven't heard or know anything about this film, then u must have fallen off the planet. I know I don't mind a new trailer to the upcoming film Kick-Ass. This trailer is even better then the first one they have put out. Official Plot Synopsis: The film tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage). "Kick-Ass" Director Matthew Vaughn Wants To Get His Hands On "Sandman"

"Kick-Ass" Director Matthew Vaughn Wants To Get His Hands On "Sandman" Matthew Vaughn's in a unique position with some of comics' most popular talents. That's why when he talks ideas for future projects, fans listen. In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Vaughn spoke openly on his appreciation of realistic comics, praising both his "Kick-Ass" and "Stardust" collaborators and stating that Gaiman deserves to have more of his work translated to film. "I think it's weird that hardly any Neil Gaiman stuff has been made. The idea that no one has made 'Sandman' yet is weird," said Vaughn. The Sandman's main character is Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, who is essentially the anthropomorphic personification of dreams. At the start of the series, Morpheus is captured by an occult ritual and held prisoner for 70 years. Morpheus escapes in the modern day and, after revenging himself upon his captors, sets about rebui

"Kick-Ass" Red Band Trailer Featuring Hit-Girl

"Kick-Ass" Red Band Trailer Featuring Hit-Girl One reason why "Kick-Ass" is getting a ton of buzz is due to the character of Hit-Girl. Red Mist From Kick-Ass In A New Poster

Red Mist From Kick-Ass In A New Poster Our good chums over at AICN have bagged a looksee at the magnificent teaser poster for one of the major characters from Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass, Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s Red Mist, and we readily recommend you start drooling now. Frankly, we love everything about this: the ballsy tagline (“I can’t read your mind, but I can kick your ass”), the graffiti on the road, the stonking Mistmobile, a car so sexy it would turn Jeremy Clarkson’s pants to smoke, and then Mintz-Plasse himself as Red Mist, a character who teams up with Aaron Johnson’s Kick-Ass for… reasons best left unspoiled for now. The only thing we might have slight pause with is that the badass photography and Red Mist’s heroic stance means that we don’t get a sense that Red Mist is, in essence, just playing at being a hero and couldn’t punch his way out of a wet paper bag. But all in good time… Having said that, virtually everything we’ve seen from Vaughn’s superhero actioner has made

He soon encounters a mysterious vigilante called Big-Daddy (Nicolas Cage), and his daughter Hit Girl ( Chloë Moretz ), who are working to bring down the drug baron, Frank D'Amico( Mark Strong ). Dave Lizewski doesn't have superpowers, isn't particularly strong or smart, and isn't extraordinary in any way… aside from his desire to be a hero. Donning a scuba suit, a ski mask, and a pair of clubs, Dave hits the underworld hard in his new persona of Kick-Ass. Though not as hard -- at first anyway -- as they hit him when he's severely beaten and hospitalized as a result of his first street fight. No one said being a hero was going to be easy… Hit-Girl is just your ordinary, run-o
