Robert Rodriguez Pinky Promises A "Machete" Sequel At the world premier of his new film Machete at the Venice Film Festival, director Robert Rodriguez has revealed that he has already got plans to make not one, but two sequels to his latest Grindhouse-inspired action flick. Just as viewers got their first glimpse of Machete, when it played as a trailer in the middle of Grindhouse, Rodriguez ends his latest action extravaganza by telling audiences to watch out for Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again . Although this seems like a joke announcement in the tradition of the exploitation films Machete honours, the Spy Kids director admits that Danny Trejo is likely to reprise the role in the not too distant future. Looks like Dimension Films is moving forward with a fourth installment of the Spy Kids franchise and Jessica Alba is in negotiations to star in Robert Rodriguez’ s “ Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World .” The Dimension movie is a reboot of sorts for the moneymaking franchise, which initially starred Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara as the kids of superspy parents ( Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino ). Rodriguez wrote and directed each installment. Vega and Sabara are no longer kids -- Vega is nearly 23 and recently engaged -- but Rodriguez wanted to continue the series. Valentine’s Day Movie Review By:Windy Make sure you stop by and let Windy know that she is doing a great service to all of us film lovers with her reviews. “Valentine’s Day”, directed by Gary Marshall and starring…well…everyone, is a Robert Altman-like film in that it focuses on several different developing stories that are all somehow intertwined. However, the film is light-hearted and not meant to be taken as seriously as an Altman film. Initial reviews of “Valentine’s Day” have not been positive. I, therefore, went into the film with low expectations. To my surprise, the film was entertaining. Julia Fitzpatrick and Dr. Harrison Copeland, played by Jennifer Garner and Patrick Dempsey, have “cutesy” on-screen chemistry. They are believable as a just-in-love goofy-acting couple. They might just be the best matched couple in the movie. Jamie Foxx provides the regular comic relief in the film, with barely a single serious moment in his scenes. Certainly you'll recall the big cool quotient around Machete, that famously fake trailer by Robert Rodriguez from Grindhouse. It was considered the single best thing about that Weinstein Co double-feature flop that also included Quentin Tarantino's pic.
