BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

RED TAILS Movie Review By: RAMA

RED TAILS Movie Review By: RAMA So did RED TAILS inspire RAMA ? Make sure to follow him on Facebook and twitter and show your love for his reviews. This could be THE inspiring movie to honor Tuskegee airmen, those brave fighter pilots, this has so much potential but unfortunately RED TAILS ’ weak script and mediocre direction doesn’t allow the film to achieve greatness. It’s good that somebody managed to bring this important true historical story to the big screen, I commend director Anthony Hemingway, producer George Lucas, screenwriters John Ridley and Aaron McGruder for doing that but I think RED TAILS could be a better film without any of their involvement.. As the war in Europe continues to take its dire toll on Allied forces, Pentagon brass has no recourse but to reconsider these under-utilized pilots for combat duty. Just as the young Tuskegee men are on the brink of being shut down and shipped back home, Col. A.J. Bullard (Terrence Howard) awards them the ultimate chan

George Lucas To Retire

This was a new feeling for George Lucas . He made a movie about a plucky band of freedom fighters who battle an evil empire — a movie loaded with special effects like no one had seen before. Then he showed it to executives from all the Hollywood studios. And every one of them said, “Nope.” One studio’s executives didn’t even show up for the screening. “Isn’t this their job?” Lucas says, astonished. “Isn’t their job at least to see movies? It’s not like some Sundance kid coming in there and saying, ‘I’ve got this little movie — would you see it?’ If Steven (Spielberg) or I or Jim Cameron or Bob Zemeckis comes in there, and they say, ‘We don’t even want to bother to see it. . . .’ ” Lucas sighs. It’s true that the movie, “ Red Tails ,” is a biopic about the Tuskegee Airmen rather than a space opera starring the Skywalker clan. But the snub implied that Lucas’s pop-culture collateral — six “Star Wars” movies, four “Indiana Jones” movies, the effects shop Industrial Light and Magic and

Star Wars: Underworld. What Do You Think? Will You Watch?

IGN had a great chat with producer Rick McCallum   about his new film Red Tails. McCallum, of course, is George Lucas' main man, having helped create, among other things, the Star Wars prequels, The Clone Wars cartoon and the oft-discussed live-action TV series that has yet to be produced. Of course, I had to ask McCallum about the status of that show today. The would-be series already has 50 scripts written, just sitting on the shelf waiting for an economically sound way to actually be produced. We talked about the challenges of making that happen, and along the way McCallum mentioned the "working title" for the show as well… Star Wars: Underworld . It has a nice ring to it, eh? And of course, it is in keeping with everything we've heard about the series so far -- bounty hunters, Godfather comparisons, and all the rest of it. It remains to be seen when -- or if -- the show will get made, but in the meantime we can obsess over the title anyway! Please Leave

Lucas Opens Up About RED TAILS & Why It Took So Long To Make

Red Tails  has been on my radar once it was announced that  Lucas was going to produce the movie. Now USA Today sat down with the man genius and asked him about his upcoming film RED TAILS . They get him to open up Why Red Tails took 23 years to make or Why he financed the film himself .  The film was directed by Anthony Hemingway, from a script by John Ridley and story by executive producer George Lucas. It is based on the Tuskegee Airmen , a group of African American combat pilots during World War II, and is the first Lucasfilm Ltd. production since Radioland Murders (1994) not to be associated with the Indiana Jones or Star Wars franchises. New Trailer & Poster RED TAILS- Why Red Tails took 23 years to make: "I wrote the script many years ago, and it turned out just like Star Wars in that it was way too big for one movie. There was the story of how they got trained at Tuskegee (Institute in Alabama), and how Eleanor Roosevelt became their champion. Then there

The Phantom Menace 3D Trailer

You may recall that, a couple of weeks ago, the poster for the first 3D reissue of the Star Wars saga arrived like an apocalyptic sign warning that The Phantom Menace was coming back to theaters. But even if you squeezed your eyes shut tight, plugged your ears and began humming the Imperial March at top volume, you can’t ignore the fact. And now comes the second sign: the trailer is online and can be watched below. There’s not exactly a whole lot new to see here, and since the trailer itself is not in 3D, we’re a little confused why Lucas and co thought it needed to go online. But then any awareness is good awareness, even if you’re part of a film series that has already earned billions. Naturally, the focus is on the stuff that will look best in 3D, with the space battles and the pod racing given the most exposure. But hey! You get to hear Peter Serafinowicz intone one of the best-remembered lines from the film. So there's a total upside here. Star Wars Episode I: The

STAR WARS: THE COMPLETE SAGA Best Selling Blu-ray of All-Time

Is this really a shocker. Everything thing Uncle George does turns into gold. 20th Century Fox are proud to announced that STAR WARS: THE COMPLETE SAGA pulled in over $84 Million in it's first week of sales making it the bestselling Blu-ray ever. Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced today that STAR WARS is the bestselling catalog Blu-ray Disc of all time with worldwide sales totaling one million units, including 515,000 units sold in North America in its first week alone. This represents $84 million in worldwide consumer spend including $38 million in North America – unprecedented for a nine-disc Blu-ray collection at a premium price. The thirteen-month campaign to launch the SAGA Blu-ray and engage consumers around the globe began in August 2010. From Darth Vader at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), a first look at San Diego Comic Con, a first-of-its-kind partnership with eBay, to creating the world’s largest lightsaber in the UK, the

Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-ray Review

Let's face it, there will never be a definitive version of the Star Wars saga in any form. IGN  reviewed the entire boxset and this is what they thought of Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-ray . Fans may be irked at the changes George Lucas has been making to the films recently, but the truth is, he's been tinkering with them since they were first released in theaters. He's never stopped, and it now looks like he never will. Say what you will about the man, you've got to admire the confidence he has in his vision, even if that vision doesn't go along with what fans want (and arguably diminishes the quality of the films in the end). When you develop an emotional attachment to something the way many of us have to Star Wars, you develop a sense of ownership about it. But Star Wars has always, and will always, belong to George Lucas. Take it or leave it. That said, the reaction of the fanbase was understandable when the changes Lucas made to the films for the Bl

George Lucas Talks Everything Star Wars

Back in 2005, George Lucas announced that the Star Wars universe would get two television shows: an animated show (The Clone Wars, which hit the big and little screen in 2008) and a live-action show set between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Now Lucas finally explains why the live-action show "sits on a shelf." During an interview with G4TV, Lucas explained that 50 hours of a Star Wars television show are waiting ... for a new way of making movies. Moviemaking is very expensive, and Lucas wants to bring the same quality to the television show, but at a fraction of the price. The good news is Lucas plans on revolutionizing the way movies are made, which WILL cut the cost to a fraction of what it is now. Say what you want about the most recent trilogy, but Lucas has always been a leader when it comes to filmmaking technology: One of his companies, Skywalker Sound, has provided post-production sound services for over 500 movies and television shows;

Concept Art Of Indiana Jones

Comic Stud Before anyone was cast as George Lucas and Steven Spielberg's rugged treasure hunter, the artist who gave Nick Fury his techno-'60s swagger was hired to craft the first images of the archaeologist rogue-hero. And when we call Steranko a stud, we're not being hyperbolic. Before working for Marvel— illustrating books like Captain America and Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. with a groundbreaking pop-surrealist flair—Steranko was, allegedy, a gymnast, a fire-eater, a musician, an escape artist, a pugilist, a stage magician and a burglar. See more pictures after the Jump.. All of which makes him the perfect guy to do for Raiders of the Lost Ark what concept artist Ralph McQuarrie did for Star Wars: conjure style-setting images from words on a page. And looking at these paintings, it's clear how much made it to the big screen. Please Leave A Comment- Source- steranko Via SyFy

James Cameron Out Of Cleopatra Confirmed & Talks Avatar 2

Exclusive Cameron Talks Cleopatra And The Next Two Avatars I had the pleasure of attending the California Hall of Fame 2010 induction last night. James Cameron was one of the 14 people being inducted this night. It was rainy and cold last night but nothing was going to stop me from trying to get in a questions to one of the all time great directors and producers ever, James Cameron. I also had the chance to meet the Man, George Lucas , last year. This is every young man's dream to meet and get time to talk to James Cameron. I spoke to Mr. Cameron, or asked a question, to him at Comic Con when he was promoting the release of Avatar back in 2009. But this was a whole different experience. Mr. Cameron was being pushed down the Red Carpet pretty fast, spending most of his time with ET and Extra, but my chance was coming. Would he talk to the Sandwich or just blow me off? Like my bother said "I have a huge presence on the Red Carpet" Well, hell yeah I do, I'm a

Man Behind Empire Passes Away Irvin Kershner , who directed The Empire Strikes Back , the 1980 landmark sequel to George Lucas’ original Star Wars film, died Saturday at his Los Angeles home after a 3 1/2-year battle with lung cancer. He was 87. During his four-decade career, Kershner used his eye for photography and his ear for music to helm George C. Scott in The Flim-Flam Man (1967), Barbra Streisand in Up the Sandbox (1972), Faye Dunaway in Eyes of Laura Mars (1978), Richard Harris in The Return of a Man Called Horse (1976) and Sean Connery in the film that returned the actor to the James Bond role for a curtain call, Never Say Never Again (1983). “He had the most incredible spirit, an exuberance for life,” Streisand said. “Always working, always thinking, always writing, amazingly gifted and forever curious. We met doing ‘Up the Sandbox’ in 1972 and remained friends ever since. I loved him.” Kershner’s first feature was the Roger Corman-financed Stakeout on Dope Stree
