BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

#JessicaJones Trailer "Nightcap"

After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City. It's time the world knew her name. Ritter stars as Jessica, a woman with super-strength and advanced healing powers who was once a superhero. After a traumatic experience, however, she gave that up and is now making a living as a private eye. Her cases often bring her into contact with those similarly boasting special abilities as well as the usual: cheating spouses, small crimes and missing relatives. Overseen by Melissa Rosenberg and based on Brian Michael Bendis’ Alias comic book series, the show will also feature Rachael Taylor as Jessica’s closest friend Patricia “Trish” Walker, Mike Colter as friend and sometime love interest Luke “Power Man” Cage (who will be starring in his own series, now shooting), Carrie-Ann Moss as the enigmatic Harper and David Tennant as Zebediah Kilgrave, The Purple Man

Marvel’s #JessicaJones Premiere Announcement Trailer

It feels like we’ve been waiting a long time to hear when we’ll be able to see Marvel’s Jessica Jones , the next series in the set of four launched by Daredevil this year, on Netflix. The wait, for the date at least, is over, as the streaming service has announced a November 20 launch. Based on Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos' Alias comics run, the Marvel universe tale is focused on Jones, a woman still picking up the pieces after a short-lived stint as a superhero. Suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after using her powers (super strength, amongst others), she decides to leave the life behind. But she doesn’t entirely forsake her past: she opens up a New York detective agency, which tackles cases for both ordinary people and superheroes. Melissa Rosenberg has been running the show on this one, which also features Mike Colter as Luke Cage (who is starting work on his own show now) David Tennant as Zebediah Kilgrave AKA “The Purple Man”, with the ability

#ElodieYung Cast As #Elektra In 'Marvel’s Daredevil'

Elodie Yung Cast as Elektra in the Netflix Original Series 'Marvel’s Daredevil' The mystery woman from Matt Murdock's past to debut in 2016! Yung will play Elektra, a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle. The first season of “Marvel’s Daredevil” made reference to Elektra, but now Yung will portray one of Daredevil's fan-favorite characters. Elektra marks the most recent major addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as she will join Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle in the upcoming season of the Netflix Original Series “Marvel’s Daredevil.” “After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to

Season 2 Could Be DAREDEVIL VS. THE PUNISHER

Nerdist  is reporting that co-showrunner, Marco Ramirez referred to season 2 as DAREDEVIL VS. THE PUNISHER . They even suggested you to read Marvel Comics’ limited series, “ Daredevil vs. Punisher: Means & Ends ” So is Punisher the big bad villain in this new season because he kills and Daredevil had vowed not to? Perhaps. But now that Kingpin is away in prison, that leads to the city’s other villains to rise and wreak havoc, filling the void and Punisher might be motivated to just end all of them. I guess philosophical clash, much like Batman V Superman, would be the thing that gets Daredevil and Punisher at odds. But what about Elektra and Bullseye? They’re not confirmed yet for this season 2 but it’d be interesting to see how it all plays out when those two enter the picture. Please Leave A Comment-

#Akira Film May Still Be Alive

Marco Ramirez will write the script based on the popular Japanese manga. “ Akira ” is alive and well at Warner Bros., which has hired “ Daredevil ” writer Marco Ramirez to adapt the popular Japanese manga, an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap . Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way banner are producing with Andrew Lazar (“American Sniper”) and his company Mad Chance. Warner Bros. executives Drew Crevello and Nik Mavinkurve will oversee the reconfigured project for the studio. Jaume Collet-Serra was set to direct “ Akira ” back in 2012 but Warner Bros. pulled the plug on the project due to issues surrounding the budget, script and casting. At the time, the studio had been in discussions with Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Ken Watanabe and Helena Bonham Carter . The original “Akira” manga followed two brothers in rival biker gangs who clash when one of them begins abusing his new telekinetic powers. Ezra Miller had been eyed to play Hedlund’s brother,

Jon Bernthal Cast as The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2

Walking Dead alum to play gun-toting Marvel antihero. By Brandon Wolfe It has been revealed that not only will The Punisher be making his MCU debut in Season 2 of Netflix’s Daredevil , but that Jon Bernthal ( The Walking Dead ’s Shane) will follow in the footsteps of Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson as skull-shirted vigilante Frank Castle. No word yet on if this incarnation of the Punisher will be hero, villain or antihero. The smart money is that he will be the darker mirror image of Matt Murdock’s more morally upstanding crusader, and that the two will oppose each other. Daredevil ’s second season will premiere on Netflix in 2016. Discuss this story with fellow SJF fans on Facebook . Jason Statham Pursued for Bullseye in Daredevil

Will the action star be transported to Netflix? By Brandon Wolfe Marvel is setting its casting sights high for the second season of Netflix’s Daredevil as rumors have popped up that Jason Statham is being pursued to play the villain Bullseye. Latino Review has reported that Statham has met with Marvel about the role, but that nothing has yet been confirmed. Though Marvel attracted some solid talent for Daredevil ’s first season, like Vincent D’Onofrio and Rosario Dawson, Statham is a genuine box-office star, and with his recent turns in both Furious 7 and Spy , possibly at a peak level of popularity right now. It seems as though if he were to take a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it would be something on the big screen rather than Netflix. In addition, in an interview released just this morning, Statham had the following to say about Marvel roles that would seem to indicate his lack of interest in any such project: "A lot of the modern sort of action movies I

Netflix Ratings for Original Series Revealed

One of the great mysteries of modern television is finally solved...sort of. Story by Matt Cummings It's true that Netflix has become not only an important player in the changing viewing habits of Americans but also a household name with incredible financial value. But the streaming company has always been a mystery in regards to the real numbers it draws, especially in the realm of its Original Series releases. To say Netflix has been less than forthright with that data is an understatement, becoming one of the closest-held secrets in modern television. But, a recent survey by San Diego-based Luth Research has shed a least a little light on this, assembling a wide swath of US Netflix subscribers to determine the most popular programs on the service. Luth looked at viewing across a wide variety of devices, but not televisions or gaming consoles. As reported exclusively by Variety, the survey reveals much about what people are watching, as well as who might be cha

Marvel’s Daredevil Renewed For Second Season

Marvel hero will get Round 2 on Netflix. By Brandon Wolfe After garnering many rave reviews (and some more tepid ones ) in its 11 days thus far of release, Marvel’s Daredevil has been renewed for a second season on Netflix. However, Season 2 will see a new pair of showrunners, as Doug Petrie ( Buffy the Vampire Slayer ) and Marco Ramirez ( Sons of Anarchy ) will take the reins from Steven DeKnight and Drew Goddard. No word on just when we might expect to binge Season 2, as the plan for the Neflix Marvel shows has been for A.K.A. Jessica Jones , Iron Fist and Luke Cage to follow Daredevil , leading to The Defenders , a small-screen, Avengers -style team up of all of the Marvel Netflix heroes. Given the heat on Daredevil right now, it stands to reason that Marvel might not want to wait such a long time to bring back Matt Murdock. Discuss this story with fellow SJF fans on Facebook . How Netflix's 'Daredevil' Matches Up to the Comics

We compare some of the plot points and story beats and analyze the possible scenarios Season 2 may take. Story by Matt Cummings By now, you've heard that online distributor Netflix has partnered with Marvel to produce a series of television programs featuring several Nick Cage, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil. The latter premiered on April 9th as a 13-episode series, and tells the story of the blinded Matt Murdock, lawyer by day and crime fighter by night. He uses his heightened senses and fierce fighting skills to clean up Hell's Kitchen, a particularly nasty borough near The Avengers' climactic battle in Manhattan. But this isn't merely a jumping off point for a collection of Netflix-based heroes: Netflix has made some very interesting connections and planted many, many easter egss for the diehard fans. The result is a vastly-improved series over ABC's Agents of SHIELD ( read Brandon's most recent review here ), but how do the television and comic

TV Review: Marvel's Daredevil Season 1

The horned one goes from Affleck to Netflix. Review by Brandon Wolfe Daredevil, Marvel’s “man without fear,” got off to a fairly disastrous live-action start with an eponymous theatrical film in 2003 starring Ben Affleck. That film, an overly melodramatic, atrociously clichéd instance of pre- Iron Man superhero detritus (albeit one with a killer Evanescence song), was so poorly received that it spawned neither a sequel nor a reboot (even 2005’s horrible Fantastic Four got both), the rights languishing in limbo for a decade before reverting back to Marvel Studios, their rightful owner. Rather than inject Daredevil into its intricate cinematic tapestry, Marvel, always eager to expand their reign in the bid for complete pop-cultural domination, went a different route, opting instead to launch Daredevil as a binge-friendly Netflix event series, the first of several it has planned. While it might have initially seemed as though such a significant character, one who once anchored

New Trailer For Netflixs #Daredevil

We’re now just a month away from the first season of the Marvel/Netflix Daredevil series that promises to bring the Man Without Fear to TV screens with a darker edge and a bloodier feel. With the episodes approaching quickly, the new trailer has arrived. The series, from Spartacus man Steven S. DeKnight, gets down and dirty into the world of Hell’s Kitchen, New York, where upstanding but frustrated lawyer Mart Murdock (Charlie Cox) decides that to help save his neighbourhood from a tidal wave of crime and post-Avengers trouble, he’s going to take matters into his own hands. By forming them into fists and dishing out rough justice as a nighttime vigilante. But Matt, as you’ll likely know, has something different from other crime fighters: he’s blind following an accident in childhood, one that also saw him develop heightened senses that let him “see” the world around him in a unique way. He’ll need them, too, as he’s up against Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) AKA The Kingpin,
