The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Spider-Man Viral Dr. Curt Connors And Oscorp. Want A Job?

Via comingsoon The viral campaign for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man has been playing out all day long in cities across the nation and has now just revealed a brand new video that features Rhys Ifans' Dr. Curt Connors inviting ARG players to take place in an Oscorp Industries science program that focuses on reptile genetics. The company, it seems, is looking for interns and the application process appears set to begin on Monday, May 14th. Check out the video in the player below! As we mentioned earlier this week, the Twitter account @scaleseeker coordinated a nationwide effort to track sightings of the film's villain, The Lizard. Throughout today, coordinates were revealed that led players to locations in Los Angeles, NYC, Atlanta, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Austin, Tampa, Minneaplis and New Orleans where packages were discovered containing Connor's shredded labcoat, an Oscorp ID badge and scientific samples of reptilian skin. New Images From Amazing Spider-Man

Having officially exhausted all Amazing Spider-Man puns - 'humorous' uses of the word "web" and others arachnid-based wordplay is now officially punishable by death in these parts - news from Spideyland should be a whole lot less irksome, starting with news of two new pics from the movie. Sony's spin doctors - damn - have released a pick of Peter Parker pictures - damn - showing the Spidery superhero at the wrong end of some pretty serious looking weaponry and a battered version nursing his wounds. So what can we learn from these? Well, firstly that SWAT teams travel by bicycle these days, and that Peter is a PC not a Mac guy. Also, that his hair remains admirably bouffant, even after a full day under a hoodie. Perhaps more significant are those slash wounds across his chest, consistent perhaps with the claws of The Lizard? Our guess is that there's more to the set-up of that SWAT team than meets the eye too. Look at where the other member of the te

Spider-Man Webslingers Design

One controversy that overshadowed Sam Raimi's Spidey franchise involved the webslingers. In short, they were a little too biological for some Spider-Man aficionados; there were no actual devices that would have satisfied comic book purists. As we know, Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man is getting back to basics on that count. Mechanical webslingers are the order of the day for Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker , and, as this new viral demonstrates on Evolve Through Engineering shows, they're grounded in real science. Well, movie science at least. Don't try this at home, just to be on the safe side. See all the images after the Jump... Please Leave A Comment- Source- Evolve Through Engineering via Empire

Spider-Man Sequel Is Being Written As We Speak

The Amazing Spider-Man movie doesn’t open until July 3, but Sony is already hard at work developing a sequel. The studio has tapped Star Trek and Transformers writing team Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to work the screenplay for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 . Spider-Man, which reboots the franchise under the direction of Marc Webb and actor Andrew Garfield, has a screenplay written by Alvin Sargent, Steve Kloves and James Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt already penned a draft of the sequel but is now working on White House Down, the action movie that is a high priority for the studio. Bringing in the duo highlights the premium importance the studio is putting on the sequel. The hiring of the high-profile writers is not cheap, and it shows that Sony does not want to lose any momentum on the project. The studio has set a May 2, 2014, release date and wants to be in production in the first quarter of 2013. “Alex and Bob have a unique ability to write great character and spectacular acti
