BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Kick-Ass 2 Is Starting To Heat Up

Universal Pictures is in talks to make Kick-Ass 2 , with Jeff Wadlow directing his script. I’m told the intention is to get the film in production by August. Discussions are just getting underway with such original castmembers as Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse , and they will have to be signed to new deals to reprise their roles. The raucous 2010 film was directed by Matthew Vaughn; it was made for $28 million and grossed $48.1 million domestic and $103 million worldwide. The original was released by Lionsgate but became a free ball controlled by Vaughn. He can’t direct the sequel because of his commitments to his X-Men: First Class follow-up, but he is backing it and is fully supportive of handing over the reins. Wadlow, who wrote and directed 2005′s Cry Wolf, wrote the Kick-Ass 2 script for Vaughn, and it has already come before Universal’s green-light committee. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Deadline

Sam Raimi Joins Poltergeist Remake

Sam Raimi is boarding MGM’s Poltergeist . The filmmaker, who got his start with the Evil Dead horror movies, will produce the remake of the 1982 film -- which Steven Spielberg produced and co-scripted from his original story -- with Nathan Kahane and Roy Lee. Despite some reports, Raimi is not directing the remake but will help oversee the search for a helmer. David Lindsay-Abaire, who worked on Disney's Oz: The Great and Powerful for Raimi, is working on the script, which focuses on a family whose house was built on a holy site and whosedaughter is taken by ghosts. The movie is one of two horror remakes on which MGM is in active development, the other being Carrie. Julianne Moore is circling the role of the mother opposite Chloe Moretz . Raimi is currently producing a remake of his Evil Dead. Fede Alvarez is directing the pic, which TriStar will release April 12, 2013. Please Leave A Comment- Source- THR

Julianne Moore Offered Role In Carrie

It isn’t a big surprise, but MGM has formally offered Julianne Moore the nightmarish religious fanatic mother in the Kimberly Peirce-directed remake of the 1976 film Carrie. Chloe Moretz is already set to play the title character, a young woman whose devastating telepathic powers rear up when she reaches puberty. Kevin Misher is producing. Moore’s name has been in the mix for a while, but at the time MGM maintained it was talking to numerous actresses. Now, they’ve sent Moore the script and a pay or play offer to play Margaret White, the role that Piper Laurie rode to an Oscar nomination. (Moore just got done playing Sarah Palin in the Jay Roach-directed HBO film Game Change, but Margaret White makes the former vice presidential candidate seem like a raging liberal.) The film is based on the 1974 Stephen King novel that was first filmed by director Brian De Palma. Sissy Spacek played Carrie White, and both she and Laurie got Oscar noms. Ray Liotta Is The Rut

With the central father-daughter character team of Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Chloe Moretz already in place on the indie drama The Rut , director Karyn Kusama has turned her attention to the other roles. And her first pick? Ray Liotta. The Rut finds teenager Alexandria Heller ( Moretz ) looking to win her legendary hunter father Ray ( Morgan )’s approval in an unorthodox fashion – she heads out into the wilderness to track down deer on her own. And now it sounds like she’ll have to face more than just the elements on her crusade, as Liotta has been hired to play Bob Nutley, a hunting obsessed local who is a serious rival to Morgan’s character. With a name like “Nutley”, you just know he’s going to be trouble. Kevin Caruso is behind the script, which keeps being described as a blend of Winter’s Bone, The Deer Hunter and Whale Rider, so we’re expecting coming-of-age lessons learned through violence and blood. Sounds good, though there’s no word on when it will start shooting.

Dark Shadows Trailer & Character Posters

With Dark Shadows and Frankenweenie at various stages of completion, Tim Burton is a busy man at the moment. Jolly good of him, then, to dazzle our peepers with a new batch of character posters - sent, we'd like to think, from his personal email account. The posters of Barnabas Collins and co. augment the most recent batch of stills and this week's exceptionally promising trailer. Dark Shadows isn't a property immediately familiar on this side of the ditch, but all the signs are there that Burton and Johnny Depp have rebottled their Edward Scissorhands / Ed Wood lightning. The trailer's comic beats land and the design look is as lovingly outlandish as you could wish for. Watch the trailer and view all the posters after the Jump... In case you're not familiar with the US TV series, the premise sees 18th century playboy Collins cursed and turned into a vampire, before eventually reawakening into '70s America. Like a toothier 'Ted'

Martin Scorsese's HUGO International Trailer

It's a Martin Scorsese 3D family film! Sure, that might seem like one of the less likely sentences ever written, but that was before Hugo, which sees the cinephile director adapt Brian Selznick's delightful (and cinema-loving) children's book The Invention Of Hugo Cabret for the big screen. And here's the new international trailer. The film stars Chloe Moretz, Asa Butterfield, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Kingsley, Jude Law, Michael Pitt, Emily Mortimer, Christopher Lee, Helen McCrory, Ray Winstone, Richard Griffiths, Michael Stuhlbarg and Frances de la Tour. We've already had one trailer, of course, but this new one offers a few new tidbits from the film, and the sight of Scorsese himself discussing his plans. From what we can see here, we feel confident in saying that it's going to look breathtaking and that Sacha Baron Cohen is going to have a close encounter with a cake. Chloe Moretz & Jackie Earle Haley Join Dance Of The Mirlitons

Hit-Girl And  Freddy Join Bell In The Dance Chloe Moretz, Jackie Earle Haley and Bailee Madison are attached to star alongside Kristen Bell in indie black comedy Dance of the Mirlitons . Evan Greenberg wrote the script and is directing with Daniel Dubiecki and Joel Michaely producing. Joe Kline will also be involved in some producing capacity. The story centers on an ambitious, slightly overweight ballerina with an overbearing mother ( Bell ) who will stop at nothing to become a star. The girl enters a Mean Girls-type environment when she has to prove her worth in class. Greenberg and the producers spent months trying to cast the lead for the role, which has the potential for a breakout in the way Billy Elliot and Little Miss Sunshine proved a launching point for actors Jamie Bell and Abigail Breslin. Madison, who appears in the upcoming Adam Sandler comedy Just Go With It as well as the Guillermo del Toro -produced Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark , has nabbed the role o

"Let Me In" Movie Review By: SandwichJohn

"Let Me In" Movie Review By: SandwichJohn First off I have to thank Jen and Overture Films for inviting me to the press screening last Thursday. It was one hell of a drive from Sacramento to LA. but well worth the drive and time. Let Me In is a film that can stand on it own, a remake what? If I hadn't attend the panel for it during Comic-Con I would have never known this film was a remake until I had done some research on the movie. The film is based on the John Ajvide Lindqvist novel “Let the Right One In ” and the Swedish film adaptation of the same name. Let Me In tells a terrifying tale about an alienated 12-year old boy named Owen ( Smit-McPhee ) who is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby ( Moretz ), an eerily self-posses

Chloe Moretz Emily the Strange Film

Chloe Moretz To Star In Emily the Strange Chloe Moretz , who gained fame as Hit-Girl in " Kick-Ass " and next stars in " Let Me In ," will star as the title character in Universal's adaptation of counterculture icon " Emily the Strange ." Universal just acquired the rights to character, created by skateboarder Rob Reger among a multitude of designs he was printing up for stickers, T-shirts and skateboards in Santa Cruz in the early 1990s. The Emily design took off, with Reger's company, Cosmic Debris, going on to become a multimillion-dollar business with toeholds in fashion, books and comics, toys, school supplies and accessories. Dark Horse Entertainment has been developing the character as a movie project since 2008. Although the company has a first-look deal with Universal, the project wasn't officially set up at the studio until now. Dark Horse's Mike Richardson is producing. Reger is executive producing alongside Dark Horse&#

New Let Me In Poster

Beware Of The Cute Snow Angles Overture Films has let two new posters from the upcoming film " Let Me In ." These poster were revealed from the viral site for the film. Watch out for snow angles they are not always as cute and sweet as they seem. Based on the John Ajvide Lindqvist novel “ Let the Right One In ” and the Swedish film adaptation of the same name, Let Me In tells a terrifying tale about an alienated 12-year old boy named Owen ( Smit-McPhee ) who is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby ( Moretz ), an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father ( Jenkins ). A frail, troubled child about Owen’s age, Abby emerges from her heavily curtained apartment only at night and always barefoot, seeming
