BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

First Image Of Jennifer Lawrence As Mystique In X-Men: Days Of Future

Unofficial on-set X-Men: Days Of Future Past photographer Bryan Singer has struck again. This time, he’s caught First Class veteran Jennifer Lawrence being made up as Mystique in a behind the scenes shot. Singer’s remark about Mystique being vengeful implies that despite the other crises hitting the mutants, she’ll still be carrying an angry torch against our heroes since she decided to join Magneto ( Michael Fassbender )’s side at the end of First Class. And she’s definitely back in figure-hugging body paint and bright orange hair, though of course we know she’ll probably end up impersonating one or two other people along the way. Lawrence is joined by the crammed grab-bag of actors from both First Class and the original X-trilogy including Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin plus new arrivals Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy and Fan Bingbing . Days Of Future Past is shooting now Please L

First Look At James McAvoy From X-Men: Days Of Future Past

When he’s not napping in his trailer or, you know, directing the movie, Bryan Singer has been the source of a regular flow of pictures from behind the scenes of X-Men: Days Of Future Past . Today’s brings a retro-tastic look at James McAvoy ’s Charles Xavier. Serpico indeed! From the looks of this, Xavier will be hanging on to his locks for a while yet, and, given that the portion of the film featuring the First Class cast will be set in the 1970s, he’s gone for it, including a mane that would even impress Hugh Jackman ’s Logan. Days Of Future Past finds the X-team in real trouble in a dark alternate future where mutants are hunted down, put in internment camps or killed by the robotic sentinels. To stop this happening will require the efforts not only of the present-day team (including Jackman, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin and Daniel Cudmore ), but also the younger versions of some of them in the '70s (with McAvoy, Mi

JACK THE GIANT SLAYER Review. Better On Paper

JACK THE GIANT SLAYER Review By: MattInRC The Medieval-era fairy tale JACK THE GIANT SLAYER is big on visuals but stumbles in key places. JACK THE GIANT SLAYER is one of those films which you can understand why it didn't receive a dance card to the Summer Blockbuster party. Exciting in parts but full of blah malaise in many others, Jack is disappointing in its totality and nearly offensive in its willingness to rip off other films. Jack ( Nicholas Hoult , Warm Bodies) is a poor young farmhand, a dreamer raised on fairy tales of giants and far-away adventures. Although his uncle's farm is on the brink of failure, he still dreams of experiencing the glories he read about as a child. In many ways, he's not very different from Princess Isabelle ( Eleanor Tomlinson , Alice in Wonderland), who's similarly spellbound as she receives the same stories in her father's opulent castle. Unaware these tales actually existed, Isabelle and Jack learn of giants w

Bryan Singer Talks X-Men: Days Of Future Past

In the new issue of Empire magazine  they spoke to Bryan Singer about the work he's doing on X-Men: Days Of Future Past, and he had a few tidbits to give us on what's in store for his prequel-sequel. "It's epic. I don't think people realise how big this movie's going to be. We get to bring both casts together." But, Singer assures us, it's still going to be coherent. "We've cracked it in a way that it makes sense. I had a two-hour conversation with James Cameron about time travel, string theory, multiverses and all that. You have to create your rules and stick wtih them. That's why Terminator and Back To The Future work so well. And there are certain mechanisms in X-Men, certain powers, perceptions and characters, that make this possible." Start speculating now on which powers and which characters he means by that! His answer might depend on how closely he's sticking to the original comic. "It has a lot of aspects

Hugh Jackman Returns For X-Men: Days of Future Past

The actor would join original trilogy stars Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in Bryan Singer's film, which also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult . Director Bryan Singer continues to merge past and present X-Men actors for Fox’s X-Men: Days of Future Past . Sources confirm that Hugh Jackman is in negotiations to reprise his Wolverine role in the movie, which is ostensibly a sequel to X-Men: First Class but will prominently feature actors from the first X-Men trilogy (the first two of which Singer directed). Singer announced Monday that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen -- who portrayed X-Men founder Professor Charles Xavier and renegade mutant leader Magneto, respectively, in the original X-Men movies -- are joining First Class actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult. Days of Future Past is a classic storyline that unfolded in two issues of Marvel Comics' Uncanny X-Men in 1981, from

New Jack The Giant Slayer

Wow… It hardly seems possible that it’s nearly been a year since the last Jack The Giant Slayer trailer. Back then, it was called Jack The Giant Killer and set to arrive in June of this year. Take a look at some new footage in the promo above, or thunder over to Apple’s kingdom to see it in true HD . For this latest trailer, we get more details on the storyline, including how young farmhand Jack ( Nicholas Hoult ) meets the brave princess Isabelle ( Eleanor Tomlinson ) and together they get mixed up in a big giant adventure(literally, since it involves giants). The real villain here is – spoiler alert from the trailer – Stanley Tucci’s Lord Roderick, who is manipulating things from behind the scenes and manufactures Isabelle’s abduction so as to prompt a rescue mission by Jack and knight Elmont ( Ewan McGregor ), which in turn sparks an invasion of the human world by the big fellas. Director Bryan Singer has assembled a cast that includes Ian McShane, Warwick Davis, Eddie Ma

Bryan Singer To Direct The Munsters TV Show

Bryan Singer is moving from mutants to Munsters . The producer-director-writer, who has been involved with three of the X-Men films in the superhero franchise, is closing in on a deal to direct and executive produce NBC's The Munsters . The project, which received a pilot order earlier this month, is billed as an imaginative reinvention of the classic comedy series as a visually spectacular one-hour drama. Singer will executive produce alongside Bryan Fuller (Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies), who also is writing the Universal Television-produced project. Fuller and NBC first made an attempt to revive the 1960s CBS sitcom last year, with the network ultimately passing. His newer version is said to be an edgier and slightly darker take exploring origins of Herman and Lily Munster (originally played by Fred Gwynne and Yvonne De Carlo) and how they arrived at the famed 1313 Mockingbird Lane address. The original series, produced by Universal Studios, aired 70 episodes from 1

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Blu-Ray Review By: Rama

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Blu-Ray Review By: Rama Ramascreen delivers another homerun with his review of   X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Blu-Ray Edition. Please make sure to follow him on Facebook and Twitter . One of the most-well reviewed films of 2011 has arrived in Blu-ray. X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, in my humble opinion, is also one of the best superhero movies ever made. Everything about this movie is just right. The perfect mix of drama and action complimented by Oscar-worthy performances from some of its key cast members. The film is also one of this year’s pleasant surprises, considering the production was ridiculously fast for a big budget summer movie, many even thought it was doomed from the start because the adaptation significantly went astray from the comic book that it’s based on. But the film worked, it surprisingly worked. This blu-ray shows you why and big chunk of it is because the story and the characters went back to the franchise’s basic, which is about control and self acceptanc

X-Men: First Class Magneto In Drag

Sometimes being an arch-nemesis is a real drag. The clip is from a Japaneses commercial promoting the deleted scenes for the upcoming DVD release of  X-Men: First Class Exhibit A: Consider this deleted scene from X-Men: First Class , included in the DVD out Sept. 9. It all starts innocently enough: Eric Lehnsherr ( Michael Fassbender ) and Charles Xavier ( James McAvoy ) are on a recruiting mission for their new, government-sanctioned mutant strike force. Angel ( Zoe Kravitz ) is working as a stripper, and they want to get her to reveal how her dragonfly tattoos actually emerge from her body to form real wings. Magneto levitated a champagne bucket to show her his power, but Angel never quite got a demonstration of Professor X’s mindbending abilities. Now we see why that was left on the cutting room floor.
