BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

The Tick Returning To Amazon TV

Ben Edlund's The Tick is making another TV comeback, this time as a pilot for a potential series over at Amazon. However, no one should greet this news with the expectation that it's a revival of the nine-episode 2001 FOX series, because this is likely to be a very different Tick designed for today's audience.

Patrick Warburton, who played the character in that version, is tied up with his new series, Crowded, while Nestor Carbonell (Batmanuel) is a regular on Bates Motel. Although the title role is yet to be cast, announced is Vinyl's Griffin Newman as Tick sidekick Arthur Everest, with House Of Lies and The Following's Valorie Curry cast as his sister, Expected to direct the pilot - which Edlund is writing - is Wally Pfister (director of photography for The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception, and director of Transcendence).

In this take on the subject, Arthur is someone who has been diagnosed as being schizophrenic due to his constant claims that their city will be ruled by evil. Naturally no one takes him seriously, until he encounters The Tick - who is suffering from memory loss - and the two of them decide to team up.

Introduced as a mascot of sorts for New England Comics 30 years ago, The Tick became the star of his own comic book series. In 1994 the character made the leap to television in the form of a three-season animated series, and then, of course, there was the 2001 live action show.

As it usually does, Amazon will film the pilot and put it out there with others for the public to view. In the end, it will be the public that determines whether or not the man in blue makes a return.

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
