BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Short-Film Prequels. #DawnofApes

With Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes picking up ten years after Rise left off, you might be curious as to what exactly has occurred in the intervening period. As luck – and 20th Century Fox’s marketing bods – would have it, there are three new viral videos showing exactly that. And, from humanity’s point of view, it’s not too pretty. Ape-manity, meanwhile, is out there... biding its time.

Motherboard, Vice’s production arm, is behind these three virals that offer a glimpse into the decade elapsed, as well as a further video that takes us to an ape testing facility in Liberia.

The standout, Story Of Gun, boasts obvious echoes of Winchester 73 in charting the breakdown of law and order in society as shotgun passes from one pair of hands to another. And another...

The intervening period has brought the spread of the Simian Flu. First isolated cases, then an epidemic and finally a full-blow pandemic has devastated the human population and brought anarchy and despair. Looting is everyone and the penalty for just about any crime is death.

Into this breach scampers an army of apes, led by Andy Serkis’s Caesar who negotiate a fragile-looking truce with the human survivors, Jason Clarke’s scientist Malcolm and Gary Oldman’s jaundiced Dreyfus among them. Judging by the latest trailer, war will be hard to avoid.

Island of the Apes (Trailer)The crew goes to Liberia to discover "Monkey Island," a place solely inhabited by former lab-tested chimpanzees. We talk to the fearful locals and meet the scientists involved in the testing facility 25 years ago.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...
