A Divorce For The Seventh Son

The fallout from the divorce of former filmmaking sweethearts Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures continues. With Legendary already agreeing to drop future financial interest in the Man Of Steel franchise for a cut of Interstellar’s action, the two companies have now parted ways over Jeff Bridges adventure The Seventh Son.

Legendary originally financed the fantasy film, which sees Bridges as a warrior wizard who's training Ben Barnes to fight witches. It’s already been plagued with delays, including issues in completing the effects in time for the release date.



Up until last month, Warners was still planning to release the film, having brought Bridges, Barnes, Antje Traue, Kit Harington and director Sergei Bodrov to the San Diego Comic-Con to promote the movie.

Still, the situation is not completely hopeless: Legendary has made a new pact with Universal, so it will take over responsibility for finding the movie a new birth. At least, everyone involved will hope it finds a new home…
