BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Michael Fassbender To Star In Comedy "Frank"

For the vast majority of his career, Michael Fassbender has been known for serious drama, big action movies or films without much to really laugh about (unless you count some of the X-Men: First Class comedy moments or used giggling as a self defence mechanism while watching Jonah Hex). But now he’s signed up for a comedy in the shape of Frank.

Lenny Abrahamson is set to direct the film, which boasts a script by Jon Ronson and Peter Straughan (who, possibly not coincidentally, adapted Ronson’s book The Man Who Stare At Goats for the big screen).

Frank follows the misadventures of an aspiring musician (Domhnall Gleeson), who gets in over his head when he joins an eccentric rock band led by the OTT Frank (Fassbender).

It certainly sounds like it could be a blast, especially if Fassbender gets to go all Velvet Goldmine (though without pulling a Ewan McGregor, even if he does have form on screen).

Fassbender, of course, most recently finished shooting Twelve Years A Slave with old pal / collaborator Steve McQueen and has been working on Ridley Scott’s The Counselor. He’s next scheduled to return to the First Class universe for the sequel. Gleeson, meanwhile, will be on screen in Dredd and will also show up in Anna Karenina. Both films show up on the same day – September 7.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim
