BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Robert Rodriguez Acquires Fire And Ice

Robert Rodriguez Acquires Fire And Ice

Producer Robert Rodriguez  told AICN, that he has bought the right to the 1983 animated movie Fire And Ice. I have never heard of this film before, maybe growing up in Japan as a kid is a bad thing? But I bet it is one of Rando's Favorite.

Yep! The awesome Ralph Bakshi and I have been working it out for a while, and it’s now a TROUBLEMAKER STUDIOS PICTURE. What’s cool is, unlike past projects that I’d get involved with that would get stalled for various reasons, I control the rights to this one. So it’s actually in my power to set it up and get it made, which wasn’t the case on other projects. And for you filmmakers out there, that’s really the best way to get things done. If you can manage to get the rights yourself to a property by dealing directly with the artists and creators like I did with Frank Miller on SIN CITY, and now with Ralph Bakshi on FIRE and ICE, it makes a world of difference and you can get started sooner rather than never.

The original version, released by Fox, directed by Ralph Bakshi in collaboration with the late Frank Frazetta, was made using the process of rotoscoping, in which scenes were shot in live action and then traced onto animation cells.

This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
