BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

It's Complicated Movie Review By: Windy

It's Complicated Movie Review
By: Windy

Chicago must have had some Hellish wind storms, Windy our resident Film reviewer blew into two films this weekend. We will start with "It's Complicated" first.

And make sure to come back and read her review of Sherlock Holmes.

Please make a pit stop to her site here.

"It's Complicated," starring Merryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin, is the story of a divorced couple of ten years who begins having an affair with each other after sparks ignite at their son's graduation weekend.

Merryl Streep and Alec Baldwin are perfectly cast as the divorced couple who portray palpable on-screen chemistry. Every emotion they share - anger, happiness, laughter, confusion - is felt through the screen. They play off of each other quite nicely as if they have acted together for years. Alec plays the perfect seducer while Streep plays the not-so-sure-but-jump-feet-first "victim" of seduction. Their comedic timing is perfect, which is usually the case with Alec Baldwin, who also stars in NBC's "30 Rock."

Out of the couple's children, the standout by far is John Krasinksi. His hilarity as Jim Halpert on NBC's "The Office" carries over nicely to the big screen as the "fiance" of the oldest daughter. His quick-tongued, deadpan humor fits perfectly with the pace of the film and adds to the silliness of Streep's and Alec's character's behavior.

Steve Martin, on the otherhand, is miscast as the serious Streep admirer in the film. It's awkward to watch most other characters in the film make laugh-out-loud maneuvers and not have Martin be one of those characters. It's his staple. If he's going to play a serious character, it needs to be in a serious drama. The one funny scene with Martin is executed perfectly, but the rest of the film is spent wondering when he is going to be funny.

Overall, "It's Complicated" offers a lot of laughter with a bit of drama to keep the storyline believable. Though all films eventually come to an end, this is one where the laughter could have kept on coming and people would have stayed in their seats.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim
