BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

SXSW 2011 SOUND OF MY VOICE & CHARLIE CASANOVA Trailer

If you heading to SXSW 2011 this year we have two films that are a must see. CHARLIE CASANOVA and SOUND OF MY VOICE.

South by Southwest (SXSW) is a set of film, interactive and music festivals and conferences that take place every spring (usually in March) in Austin, Texas, United States. SXSW first began in 1987 and is centered on the downtown Austin Convention Center. Each of the three parts runs relatively independently, with different start and end dates.

CHARLIE CASANOVA -- SXSW trailer

ABOUT CHARLIE CASANOVA

Erudite, harmless, ruling class egotist, Charlie Barnum (EMMET SCANLAN, in a haunting performance)'s smoke and mirror articulations conceal a prejudiced, over-educated sociopath who refuses to be bound by the restrictions of morality, law or even reality. When Charlie knocks down a working class girl in a hit-and-run, he uses a deck of playing cards to determine his fate. Dangerously subversive, provocatively dark, and satirically disturbing, you've already met Walter Mitty and Billy Liar, now it's time for you to meet the darkest member of that twisted trio; the man of our times, Charlie Casanova.

CHARLIE CASANOVA is the first film to be entirely conceived on Facebook. After the Irish Film Board rejected the script, writer-director Terry McMahon had the words, "The Art is in the Completion. Begin." tattooed onto his body then typed a message into his Facebook status that he was planning to shoot the film in a few weeks and soliciting a cast and crew. Within twenty-four hours a hundred and thirty people made contact with Terry. Camera department, designers, production managers, assistant directors, continuity people, gaffers, actors... Three weeks later CHARLIE CASANOVA was in production with this renegade crew of strangers and actors. The film was made for less than $1,000 Euros -- the Irish press have dubbed it Ireland's lowest-budgeted movie of all time!

CHARLIE CASANOA will be premiering at the 2011 SXSW on Sunday, March 13th.

SOUND OF MY VOICE

Peter and Lorna, a young Silver Lake couple, delve into the underworld of a cult that meets in the San Fernando valley. At the center of the group is an enigmatic young woman named Maggie (Brit Marling) who never leaves her basement chamber. The members follow Maggie blindly-growing her food, obsessively sanitizing the house, giving her their own blood for transfusions. But why? We follow Peter and Lorna as they smuggle hidden cameras into Maggie's basement bent on exposing her as a charlatan and freeing the members from her spell. But when they themselves fall prey to Maggie's mind games all bets are off.

SOUND OF MY VOICE will be premiering at the 2011 SXSW on Friday, March 11th.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
