POTC: On Stranger Tides Featurette

Disney has delivered us another sneak peek featurette for the upcoming film Pirates of The Caribbean On Stranger Tides. In the sneak peek we get footage that we saw at Comic-Con 2010 and  also some new footage.

On Stranger Tides sees Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush as Hector Barbossa, off in search of the Fountain of Youth, facing certain opposition from Ian McShane as the dastardly Blackbeard. Penelope Cruz, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Gemma Ward, Oscar Jaenada, Sam Clafin and Stephen Graham are also setting sail, with Rob Marshall at the helm. The film comes ashore next May.

That metallic sheen could suggest any number of likelihoods. Perhaps Jack Sparrow will find an island of pirate Terminators, or get his skeleton laced with adamantium (either of which we would totally pay to see). Possibly it hints at an encounter with the Silver Surfer, or, at a stretch (because those other suggestions are so plausible) with Chromeskull from Laid to Rest. Or maybe it's a metaphor for On Stranger Tides itself: an entry in a franchise that's comfortably familiar but slightly tweaked.
