BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Taraji Henson & Chapman PERSON OF INTEREST Comic Con Interview

Taraji Henson & Chapman PERSON OF INTEREST Interview
By: Beevers
SandwichJohnFilms had the chance to attend the press junket for the hit TV show PERSON OF INTEREST at Comic-Con 2012. Being that this is MattInRC's favorite, it's only fitting that he sat down with the cast while I stood back and let him do his thing.

If you’re a fan of the show (and frankly who isn’t), you know the season finale featured several unexpected turns that left our heroes separated and Reese turning to an unlikely ally for help. Stars Michael Emerson (Finch), Jim Caveizel (Reese), Taraji Henson (Carter) and Kevin Chapman (Fusco) joined series creator Jonathan Nolan and producer Greg Plageman to discuss the show and its unique premise.

Next up we sat down with Detective Joss Carter (Taraji P. Henson): A NYPD detective and a single mother with a teenaged son, Taylor. Carter is a former U.S. Army interrogator who passed the bar in 2004, but gave up practicing the law to return to police work. Carter first crosses paths with Reese following his encounter with a group of young men on a New York subway, but knew him principally as a mysterious man in a suit. Carter is initially determined to apprehend Reese, but eventually forms an alliance with him and Finch. She is unaware of the Machine's existence. And Detective Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman): A corrupt cop Reese blackmails into being a source inside the police department. Finch later arranges for Fusco to be transferred so that he works with Carter. Over time, Fusco becomes increasingly loyal to Finch and Reese.

Taraji Henson
On her character Detective Carter: “She feels that deep down what they’re doing is morally right. That’s why she is on board.”
On operating ‘heavy ordinance’ every week: “I love it. I like that. They train us as we go, because you never know what kind of weapon they’re gonna put in your hand that week. Every week is different!”
On shooting in New York City: “It’s very guerilla style. They throw you in the street, they throw the cameras up and they use all the people. That threw me off my rhythm a little bit but I’m more used to it now.”

Kevin Chapman
On Detective Fusco: “Fusco is kinda of an anti-hero. The character is never really defined. Reese allowed him to return to come back to the self-heroic image of himself that he once had. It’s been nice to see that sense of duality in the character. You’re not sure if he’s a good guy doing bad things or a bad guy doing good things. What I really enjoy is whether he is a good guy or bad guy they leave it up to the viewership. It’s up for the viewer to determine whether they like him or not.”

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
