You know him as Randy from Scream, B-Rad from Malibu’s Most Wanted, or.. the Son of the Mask. Now get ready to see Jamie Kennedy in an all new light.. as Buddy Hutchins.

‘Buddy Hutchins’ follows the title character, a former successful guitarist for a rock band, who’s now attempting to maintain and revive his professional life. With the support of his family, Buddy is trying to maintain his struggling dry cleaning business. But his life suddenly turns for the worst again when he’s no longer able to maintain his company, which results in him also losing his home. His wife, Evelyn (Sara Malakul Lane), decides to leave him after he learns she was cheating on him, and she persistently demands he pay her alimony after their divorce. His family dynamic also worsens as his son continues to resent him for his lifestyle choices. The only person who appreciated that he tried to put his life on track and focus on their family was his daughter, who’s proud of the successes he has achieved.


Jamie, first up… has your relationship with the online media changed much since the ‘Heckler’ days? Or have you changed in your attitude towards it?

 No, the media is still the same, but my attitude has definitely changed. I tend to be very selective about which critiques I take personally or not.

Yes, but I do more Googling for viewer reviews, as opposed to the more popular sites.




This is definitely a very different part for you. Was it challenging to get into the mindset of this character?

 Not really, because all I had to do was just let myself be completely free, and if Buddy wanted to tell someone to fuck off, he would… it was getting in touch with your most base self.

Has Buddy Hutchins ignited an interest to do more dramatic work?
Yes, I would like to surprise people as much as I can.

How important as a marketing tool has the internet been in promoting Buddy Hutchins?
Well, being that you’re my 5th interview today, I would say very important and I would know the power of all these sites, and appreciate them. Thank you.

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack.
