IRA GLASS FAVORITES On SUNDANCENOW DOC CLUB

SUNDANCENOW DOC CLUB PRESENTS IRA GLASS FAVORITES

SundanceNow Doc Club, the member-based advertising-free streaming video service dedicated to documentaries, announced today that IRA GLASS FAVORITES, a program of films hand-picked by the legendary "This American Life" host, is now live on DocClub.com.

Glass selected seven of his favorite documentaries of all time to share with Doc Club members. His picks include: Bennett Miller's THE CRUISE; Errol Morris' FIRST PERSON: LEAVING THE EARTH and THE THIN BLUE LINE; Ra'anan Alexandrowicz's THE LAW IN THESE PARTS; Richard Press' BILL CUNNINGHAM, NEW YORK; Ross McElwee's SHERMAN'S MARCH; and Jonathan Demme's STOP MAKING SENSE.

Rarely seen titles THE CRUISE, from FOXCATCHER director Miller, and THE LAW IN THESE PARTS are both currently not available for streaming anywhere else online.

Of his selections, Glass said: "I like documentaries that conceive of themselves as entertainments. All these films have genuinely surprising moments and compelling characters. They're emotional. Each has a completely original take on the world. That's what I thought this list was. Then I wrote up my notes for this program and noticed that every film on the list has also inspired me in some way. Either it got me totally excited for making my own documentary stories, or simply - in the case of Bill Cunningham and Speed Levitch and David Byrne - made me want to be a better person, more awake to the world, more disciplined and effective and inventive at my work. I don't think of myself as someone in the market for inspiration but I guess got it from these movies. Corny, sure. And so what?"

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...
