My father died of colon caner and my mother is a survivor of colon caner.

As for more information about the event, Relay for Life is a 24-hour celebration is a team event to fight cancer. Our Relay For Life will take place from Saturday, June 9th to Sunday, June 10th at San Francisco School of the Arts (SOTA). We are expecting over 300 participants ranging from young children (5 years old) to adults and volunteers from the local community to take part in this annual event.
A couple highlights of the event are the opening Survivor Lap at 9:00am on Saturday, and the Luminaria Ceremony on Saturday evening to remember those who have lost their battle with cancer and to honor cancer survivors.
Together we will celebrate the lives of cancer survivors, remember those that we have lost and fight back to end the disease.
Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length. Relayers do not have to walk all night, but each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.
