Gunpowder & Sky Distribution announced today that they have acquired the US distribution rights to April Mullen’s BELOW HER MOUTH. Shot entirely with a female crew, the film tells the story of an unexpected romance between two women whose passionate connection changes their lives forever.

The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival 2016 where it went on to screen at Festival du Nouveau Cinema, Mar Del Plata International Film Festival, and Goteborg Film Festival. It will also play at BFI Flare: London’s LGBT festival in March. Gunpowder & Sky Distribution will release BELOW HER MOUTH on April 28th,
2017, theatrically and across all major On Demand platforms, including iTunes, Amazon Video, Google Play, Microsoft Movies & TV, Verizon FiOS, and DirecTV.

"BELOW HER MOUTH offers a fresh, raw and honest look into the electrifying connection between two people through the female gaze,” said Mullen, the film’s director. “I'm thrilled to share the film with US audiences and celebrate love is love."

In BELOW HER MOUTH, Jasmine (Natalie Krill) is a successful fashion editor living with her fiancé, Rile (Sebastian Pigott). On a night out in the city with her best friend, she meets Dallas (Erika Linder), a roofer recently out of a relationship. Surprised by the confidence with which Dallas pursues her, Jasmine turns Dallas down – but can’t get her out of her head. Dallas continues her advances over the next few days. When Jasmine finally succumbs, the two women embark on a steamy affair that forces her to reevaluate her life.

Indiewire calls the film, “a bolt of lightning…a powerful experience”; while AfterEllen says BELOW HER MOUTH is “demanding the attention of queer women ”, and Toronto Star hails it as “a film about women exploring lust on their own terms”.

"I'm a Canadian lesbian – this was a no-brainer," said Janet Brown, Gunpowder & Sky's EVP of Distribution. "Seriously, we're very happy to be partnering with such a talented, exciting filmmaking team to bring BELOW HER MOUTH across the border."

Created by and with an all female crew, BELOW HER MOUTH, was produced by Melissa Coghlan, written by Stephanie Fabrizi, shot by Maya Bankovic, edited by Michelle Szemberg and scored with music composed by Noia.

Linzee Troubh of Cinetic negotiated the sale with Jake Hanly of Gunpowder & Sky Distribution. BELOW HER MOUTH is a Serendity Point Films production in association with Distant Horizon.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...
