Jon Favreau Will Direct Seth MacFarlane’s New Fox Show

Seth MacFarlane’s new Fox show may not have a name yet – but it has just secured Jon Favreau as the director and executive producer of its first episode.

Starring MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki and Scott Grimes, the comedy (it was never going to be a drama, was it?) is set 300 years in the future, on a spaceship named ‘Orville’. Favreau will continue to work as a consultant over the show’s 13 episodes, the pilot of which will start filming in January.

After the success of The Jungle Book, Favreau is confirmed to direct the sequel, staying with Disney to serve as an executive producer on both Avengers: Infinity War and 2019’s currently untitled Avengers film. MacFarlane will soon be heard lending his vocal talents to Garth Jennings’ Sing, and will also pop up in the definitely-still-not-quite-retired Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky.

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device.
