BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

The Joker Coming Soon to Gotham

The Clown Prince of Crime to make his TV debut.

By Brandon Wolfe

The question of just when Batman’s most iconic villain, The Joker, will finally makes his debut on Fox’s Gotham has been answered, and the answer is much sooner than you might have guessed. Executive Producer Bruno Heller initially intended to hold off on introducing the character into the show, but now has revealed that the crown jewel of the Rogues Gallery could pop up before the first season ends.

"We've said you're going to be waiting a bit longer for it, but this is America -- nobody wants to wait," Heller told TVGuide.com. "So, we will scratch the surface of that story, yes. But just scratch it -- a little tap on the door."

Heller’s statement is open to interpretation, as he seems to hint that an in-the-flesh appearance by the Joker might not occur this season so much as a tease, perhaps in the form of an ominous cackle heard at the end of the season finale, or even a direct steal from Batman Begins with the revelation of a telltale Joker card.

Tossing the Joker into the mix comes with its share of problems, however. For starters, the Bruce Wayne of Gotham is still barely out of puberty, so the fact that so many of his famous adversaries are already running around Gotham City, many as full-fledged adults, seems peculiar. Also, Gotham is throwing so many iconic villains at the audience straight off the bat in its inaugural season – with the Penguin, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Harvey Dent and the Scarecrow all already present in their nascent forms – that piling yet another major bad guy on top might seem like overkill.

Still, given how gruelingly tedious Gotham has been thus far, perhaps the best thing for it would be for the Joker to show up to ask why this show is so serious.

Sex Tape Review: Overly Sexual, Rude, Vulgar, and Absolutely Hilarious

The raunchy Sex Tape will divide audiences and critics, but who cares? Sex Tape suggests a growing practice among loving partners: that of making a raunchy testament of their escapades for posterity. But what happens when that evidence gets seen by friends, neighbors, and even the mailman? This is the plot that pits Jay (Jason Segel) and Annie (Cameron Diaz) in an effort to secure every iPad gift Jay has given, his record company playlists being the envy of the recipients, but which has also inadvertently spread the video to every device. The reason for the act - termed in the movie as pulling "the full Lincoln " for its three-hour length - stems from the couple's non-existent social life, brought on by the constant demands of their children. The couple has a lot to lose: a burgeoning business relationship between Annie and Hank (Rob Lowe) could end if the iPad she's given to Hank exposes the video, and so the couple sets out to reclaim and wipe the incrim...

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert?

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack. Estavillo says that the slow pace is "deceitful" because more time = more subscription revenue for Activision. Here's where Winona Ryder comes...
