HISTORY GOES FOR A RIDE IN GRITTY FACT-BASED DRAMA SERIES ‘GANGLAND UNDERCOVER’

Gangland Undercover Premieres Tuesday, February 24 at 10 PM ET/PT

HISTORY is taking viewers inside a covert operation in the new fact-based drama series, GANGLAND UNDERCOVER, which chronicles meth dealer turned ATF infiltrator Charles Falco’s mission inside one of America’s most notoriously violent outlaw motorcycle gangs. Giving a rare look inside this historically infamous organized crime gang through of the eyes of an undercover investigator, the six-episode series premieres on HISTORY Tuesday, February 24 at 10 PM ET/PT and is based on Falco’s 2013 memoir, “Vagos, Mongols, and Outlaws: My Infiltration of America’s Deadliest Biker Gangs.”

GANGLAND UNDERCOVER follows Falco’s three-year mission living a double-life as an ATF informant planted inside the one of the most historically dangerous motorcycle gangs, the California-based Vagos – a criminal group involved in drug trafficking, arms smuggling, money laundering and murder. Falco initially took on the assignment out of self-preservation, to avoid 20 years in prison on drug charges, but his outlook soon shifted, becoming a quest to achieve justice. Operation 22 Green, as it was known, ended in March 2006 with the arrests of 25 gang members.

Drawing on the wealth of material from Falco’s book, along with broader documented historical research of inter-gang rivalries, the series will capture the reality of outlaw biker counter-culture: a world in which freedom is equated with the right to carry guns and trade drugs with impunity, a world in which respect can be earned through fear.

GANGLAND UNDERCOVER is produced for HISTORY by Cineflix Productions in association with Shaw Media and in association with Stephen Kemp (Paranormal Witness, After Armageddon). Charles Tremayne (First 48, American Pickers and Surviving Evil) and Kim Bondi are amongst Cineflix’s Executive Producers. Noel Baker (Hard Core Logo) is the lead writer. Neil Rawles (Manson, 9/11 State of Emergency), Carl Hindmarch (Paranormal Witness, Locked Up Abroad) and Stephen Kemp are the directors. Julian P. Hobbs, Stephen Mintz and Elaine Frontain Bryant are Executive Producers for HISTORY. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack.
