Jake Gyllenhaal Is Ripped In The First Image From "Southpaw"

The actor has clearly been logging some serious hours in the gym

You probably won't want to step into a ring with Jake Gyllenhaal after seeing the first image for his forthcoming film Southpaw.

The Weinstein Company has released its first peek at the boxing drama with a promotional photo of Gyllenhaal showing off his impressive physique.

Director Antoine Fuqua's film centers on a boxer who finds success with the gloves on but is having major issues in his personal life. Rachel McAdams, Rita Ora, Forest Whitaker, Naomie Harris and 50 Cent co-star. The script was written by Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter.

This is the latest project to require a major onscreen transformation for Gyllenhaal, who lost a significant amount of weight for his previous film Nightcrawler.

Winona Ryder- An "Alienation" Expert? We're halfway checked out for the holiday weekend, so let's end with bit of comedy. A litigious videogame player is calling Winona Ryder to testify as an expert in "alienation." Erik Estavillo has filed a $1 million lawsuit in California Superior Court against Activision Blizzard, publisher of "World of Warcraft," saying it "maintain(s) a harmful virtual environment to many of its customers by forcing them to follow the game's sneaky and deceitful practices." The plaintiff says he suffers from several mental health problems brought on by WoW's "alienating" features, such as forcing beginners to walk or run to get from one point to another instead of speedier options available to those who master the game or buy an expansion pack.
